Would upvote you a thousand times on this if I could. Freely admit I bought it all from him, hook, line, and sinker. He’s 100 percent correct. Campbell only cares about Campbell and his loyal circle.
My son knows two of the players transferring. One of them told my son that apparently Campbells staff is telling the ones they won’t bring to PSU they should be looking as it’s no longer the same ISU anymore.
I’ve posted in another thread about how the shine of Campbell went away after I learned about his fragile ego and many NDAs attached to former coaches. It would appear he ego is so fragile that he can’t handle a successful Iowa State without him if the above is true.
Now that he’s gone I hope people see that he really is no different than any other self absorbed college coach that is only in it for themselves.
Think of it as two full recruiting classes to fill. With just transfers. I would imagine he'll bring in a ton of seniors but I would hope he brings a fair share of underclassmen in to steady the ship for the future. I'd imagine they'll have an insane amount of work to do over the next two months. Is this too optimistic?
* On average, teams lose about 20 of 85 scholarship players each year when they've used up all eligibility. Thus, there's ~20 losses. (I didn't look up the actual number.)
* We have 29 players that have announced their intent to transfer.
* It's still early, thus one might assume another 20 players will enter the portal.
That leaves us with ~70 losses out of 85 scholarship players.
Then, on the bright side, we rebuild around those 15, plus 1-2 players who entered the portal but decide to stay, plus ~10 of our previously committed recruits who decide to stick with ISU, plus ~5 walk-ons who earn scholarships.
That gets us to 32, which means that the staff will need approximately 53 transfers and/or new HS commits.
Again, too optimistic?
Plus plus is everyone who has been around him says no one will outwork him. And, as he said, he “didn’t come here to lose.” He’s done this before and will do it again. Yes but you may actually need to hold a silver of hope to keep him.Oh trust me; that's the attitude I've had during this. I honestly think Neal is one of if not the most talented player on our defense.... so just holding a sliver of hope on that one![]()
I'll be shocked if Neal doesn't end up at Penn State.Yes but you may actually need to hold a silver of hope to keep him.
Kyle is our starting kicker. And All Big12 at that.Klosterman and Jace Gilbert (kicker) are gone.
Of the 10 that have announced their return, 0 of them are starters.
People are foolish believe that any starters would return. Better to just assume they’re gone and be pleasantly surprised if a couple stayKlosterman and Jace Gilbert (kicker) are gone.

Could you bold the starters in the list for visual purposes?Klosterman and Jace Gilbert (kicker) are gone.

The number of coaches that would be unemployable without NDAs in place would be absolutely staggering if it ever got out....Eh, NDAs aren't that uncommon in this profession. Neither are disgruntled former staff members. Not all that surprising.
So the incoming coach who's never stayed anywhere more than two years is being Deified on here and we're trashing the coach who stuck it out for 10 years and won us a Fiesta Bowl. Got it.You’re right. Maybe better.
Non disclosure agreementsWhat does NDA stand for?
Honestly I thought we would keep a few starters that Campbell didn't want to take with him. There are still some starters that have not announced yet - Ebel, McLaughlin, Brezina, Patton, Neal, Hawk, Gilbert (DE), Sowell - have all started at least one game. A few of those guys are Iowa kids who are probably not good enough to get a Penn State offer.People are foolish believe that any starters would return. Better to just assume they’re gone and be pleasantly surprised if a couple stay
As it relates to a school official leading students in prayer and selecting team bible verses and books to print on team tshirts? Now you’ve intrigued me…
What portion of the US Constitution would you be referring to?

Completely agree. To me it was more disappointing to see fans on here piling on that coach at the time and nonstop praise of Campbell. When in reality they were let go for doing exactly what Campbell directed them to do. The program needed a scapegoat for recruiting misses and bad coaching.Eh, NDAs aren't that uncommon in this profession. Neither are disgruntled former staff members. Not all that surprising.
Good idea. I'll get on that when I'm on the computer later. Doing it from my phone would be a pain in the arse.Could you bold the starters in the list for visual purposes?![]()
