Not sure what everyone was expecting. I knew right away without reading or hearing anything we were going to loss most if not all of our top 20 guys and most of our best recruits. That’s how it works.

Penn State and Washington State are also going through this. The difference is a pecking order and money involved.

Just go ahead and buckle up for most players to leave the first week of January officially and then it’s going to be a month or two of crazy recruiting. I do not envy these coaches right now.

Really kinda blows my mind that most of us would be at some destination soon getting ready to watch a bowl game

Ten years worth? Yeah- my bad. Ya know, he could’ve jumped after 2017 if he wanted. NIL and unlimited transfers ****ed everything up. Bill Snyder doesn’t turn Kansas State around in this environment. We plateaued and Matt knew it.
Bill Snyder turned and burned through JUCO kids like water. He was doing exactly this just in a different way that matched the times he was coaching in. He was more than willing to kick one kid to the curb the minute he could get a better kid to take his place.

Matt 'plateaued' because the resources were maxed out and he works for the only AD on earth that's obsessed with following the rules to very letter and he was never going to be allowed to work outside that framework to grow the program.

Trust the process — no Big 12 championship, even when we were loaded with NFL-caliber talent

Win in the margins — we often lost in the margins

Culture/best version of ourselves — entire team bailing and refusing to play in a bowl shows this was total crap

Looking forward to Rogers righting the ship and taking this program to the next level. Let’s give him the chance to cook before losing our collective minds.

Penn State created their own mess, and I have 0 sympathy for them.

I do have sympathy for Wazzu, but they are losing a one-year coach, not a 10-year coach with a team slated to contend for the Big XII next year.

This is a complete fish-gut, and the previous coach is a crumb for how, what, when, where, why reasons. Last I am going to say about him.

Go Tigers!

I torn because winning would be cool, but I’m kind of dying to hear to hear what you’ll be whining about if we don’t.

The "culture" was science fiction and talk, what's happening now is proof of that.

And that "culture" goes with him to PSU.

That's why the whole, "leaving ISU football in a better place" talk is BS. He got it to a better place, but he's not leaving it in a better place. To leave it in a better place there has to be some semblance of that success that remains at ISU and there won't be anything...or at least very little. There would need to be a core group of players (starters) that stay because they believe in maintaining that culture at ISU...and that doesn't look like that's going to happen.

Coach Rogers is literally starting from scratch.

Snyder imo shouldn't be mentioned as what he did regardless of talent and set up was a different stratosphere.

His teams were sharp fundamentally, commonly finished in the top ten and they would waste opponents if given the chance.

I applaud the guys for their time and efforts at ISU but some of them are really making risky gambles with their careers.

Williams and Cooper are going to be rehabbing from injuries in a new place and a sense of urgency to get back to the field to earn PT. Both are immensely talented but one set back and/or missing Spring workouts and your career is essentially over.

Frankly, if any player feels he should seek the money, go for it. I don't want him here. If a player truly loves ISU and Ames and is an actual Loyal Son, then I'm with him all the way. In the event that the "system" encourages players to seek the money, then move us to FBS or lower. Zero s h i t s... I support ISU running over, around, and through our opponents at whatever level we find ourselves. It's about a school, a team, a fan base, and a city. If we can't keep up with the proverbial "Jones'" at the current level, then find our place in the world and move forward.

I don't care about the Ohio States and the Georgias of the world. I love ISU.

I actually think ISU football will be really, really good...soon. I know this, because I lived through the Criner and Walden years.

Jamie is pretty much the last person I’m going to blame for all of this.
