This is true, but it's a tricky situation. I mean, pounding it into Audi for layups is very efficient. But today we traded 2s for 3s, and it almost bit us in the ass. I agree we need more creative sets. I liked the fake dribble handoff with Williams taking it to the hoop. WIlliams and Brown should be tough in a two man game, but that requires Audi to leave the lane, and her defender can camp in the middle and make it 3 on 2.
Fennelly has always been content to let teams shoot threes. But we gave up way too many easy buckets inside and outside. We're always a poor defensive IQ team. We must not practice team defense much. All of our players are completely fixated on their individual assignment instead of helping or anticipating. It's frustrating to watch because most high school teams practice shell drill every day. We're often completely unaware.
