Rocco joining the Transfer Portal

Have you checked how many jackrabbits are in the NFL?
There are but part of the credibility I was talking about has to do finding and developing a lot of these guys. I think CJFnR will get there, but he's only been a head coach for three years and is on his second move in a little over a year. Like Campbell he needs a stable run at ISU to earn that.

I bet Campbell tries to bring him there. I could also see Nebraska make a run at him with a bag of cash. That coaching staff and AD has to be feeling some heat after the way their season ended and then their legacy QB bails.
God please NOOOOooooo

I keep seeing this "freeing up NIL money" talk. How much was he getting? Maybe that was holding the rest of the team back.

This is just reason 1,500 why I'll never give a nickel to this NIL joke and nobody else should either. You're being grfited badly.

Think about it, average salary in Iowa is about $47,000 a year. His family's net worth is around 12 million. You're giving money to a cause that would take the average Iowa 255 years of employment to reach.

I’m guessing that Rocco and big citrus were our two highest paid players.

MC never gets the statue now. That was part of the calculus when deciding to leave. He will always be welcomed back but he doesn't get to be celebrated or have a place of honor like that here.
I mean, I think we care more about their legacy than either Rocco or MC. Can’t blamed either one and will be rooting for both!

Nebraska should go after him. Heck, Iowa should go after him.

Iowa does like a transfer QB coming in off surgery. But a non-throwing arm seems a bit minor for them to consider him. He’d need to miss all of spring and be questionable for the start of fall camp to fit their profile.

I assume ISU will not be providing rehab services post-surgery now then?
I’m assuming he’ll rehab in Florida and then Happy Valley. He wanted to graduate before making it official. Can’t blame him, but assuming the Brecht train has left Ames pretty quickly after the grad ceremony.

Campbell will want him in the locker room for the cultural piece ASAP. All in. We are-Ped St.

He is going to Penn State. That is a smart move by Campbell. Look at Penn State's schedule next year. With a veteran QB at at the helm, their absolute floor should be 9-3. Depending on how much of their roster they retain, and what their transfer class looks like, I personally would be surprised if they arent 10-2 or better and playing in the CFP. Can't and don't blame Rocco for making that move.

The crazy thing is Penn State fans surely think Rocco isn't remotely good enough to play for them after his numbers slipped this year.

If it somehow is PSU, Rocco and CMC will have to sell him as a qualified QB. These are like early 00s Husker fans mindset we're talking about.
My wife and I had PSU season tickets from 1990 to 2010 because she was an alumnus and we lived in NJ at the time. In that era, other than Kerry Collins, PSU's biggest weakness was that they had mediocre QBs. They've had some good ones recently but Rocco is at least as good as a typical PSU QB.

I guess it is just a big-time dice roll. I was at the BYU game (or was it ASU), where Rocco was having a horrible day (yes, he was hurt, and most didn't know it), but the fans were still cheering him on. An entire section of shirtless and crazy young men were cheering for him and chanting his name, as he didn't really play superwell.
Does he think he will get that kind of support in Happy Valley? Doubt it.
