Pretty lackluster performance except for the middle 20 minutes or so, but Eastern Illinois was pretty scrappy. I’m sure the guys will get sick of watching tape on that one this week

Iowa up 8-0 in first 3 minutes, doesn't look like they're tired after Thursday.
Nah, Finals, Christmas break coming up...these next couple of games are teams that aren't going to beat us...hard to be Uber focus for these type of games...they"ll dial it in when Big12 play starts...not concerned at all.Not a game to be proud of. Backups played like utter sh*t. Missed layups. Almost every wide open three missed. Hopefully not hitting a wall here.
He’s worse in the premium forum.Oh FFS.
Good thing we beat them already.Iowa up 8-0 in first 3 minutes, doesn't look like they're tired after Thursday.

Tamin's jump shot looks broken. Hopefully just tired legs. Nobody shot particularly well. Nelson and Mulder are guys we need to be better.Bright spot = Buchanan. 14 points on 7-8 with 6 boards (3 offensive) 2 assists, 2 blocks, and 1 steal. Only 1 TO. Only had to play 28 minutes.
Okay spots = Milan and Lipsey. Milan 18 points on 6-11 and 2-6 from three. Not what we've become accustomed to, but not terrible. Typical Lipsey game 9 points, 7 assists with only 1 turnover, 5 steals. My issue here is the number of minutes especially after he went down awkwardly in the first. He looked sore out there. Hopefully not a trend.z
Underwhelming = Toure and Jefferson. Expect more against an obviously overmatched opponent. Stat lines not terrible.
Bad spot = the bench. 4 of 18 overall and 2 of 12 from three (almost all Batemon). Very little contributino elsewhere despite a lot of minutes and a really bad opponent.
Didn’t expect a whole lot from this game. Biggest downer was Batemon’s poor shooting from three.Bright spot = Buchanan. 14 points on 7-8 with 6 boards (3 offensive) 2 assists, 2 blocks, and 1 steal. Only 1 TO. Only had to play 28 minutes.

We need one of Heise, Nelson, and Batemon to be a positive offensive spark - or at least not a liability - come Big 12 play.Tamin's jump shot looks broken. Hopefully just tired legs. Nobody shot particularly well. Nelson and Mulder are guys we need to be better.
Good, just please don't mess with the cat! We're horrible! I'mma go kick my dog!
I couldn't help but think Mulder is more on the caliber of the EIU guys while watching today. That is a tough realization. We need one of Heise, Nelson, and Batemon to be a positive offensive spark - or at least not a liability - come Big 12 play.
Also, Pleta seems more important than many (myself included) imagined. Drop off from Buchanan to Pleta is far less than with Mulder (god love the kid, but he is limited).
Yeah, but still better than holding a single digit lead in the second half like in some years past. This is a team we were favored to beat by 40 though, so still a decent underperformance.
“Only 3 defensive rebounds shows inconsistent effort, Blake” — TJ Otzelberger, probablyBuchanan was 14/6/2 on 7/8 shooting. I'd say thats pretty good
Mulder isn't getting any minutes come B12 play with a healthy Pleta. Nelson's will also be limited because Batemon is clearly the better defender. I don't know why anyone would take anything from this game. Sunday after Iowa and before finals against a no name is always going to be bleh.Tamin's jump shot looks broken. Hopefully just tired legs. Nobody shot particularly well. Nelson and Mulder are guys we need to be better.
“No doubt about it” and “I tell you what.” Sort of his catch phrases…Am I just getting used to it or is the one announcer not saying "no doubt about it" as much as usual?
