Does the Big 12 want Notre Dame?

ND values their independence from a conference. They’re basically taking the cake and eating it too. They get a lot of benefits of conference membership while keeping their media revenue to themselves.

The thing about ND is that due to conference consolidation, I don’t think the SEC or Big10 would deal with conference affiliation. They’re either in or out. The Big 12 and the ACC are the only Power conferences that would probably allow ND to keep their sweet deal going.

I hope that all power conferences only allow full membership so we can stop this speciality treatment of them.
Agree 100%. There's a better chance of me hitting the lotto than ND joining a conference.

If you know any ND fans, ask them if they’d want to join the B12 and let me know their response. They think they’re head and shoulders better than us folk, right or wrong
No, if you know any ND fans, ask them if they actually attended ND. You know the answer, in most cases.

I've been banned from this site many times, I was the one who wanted the cyclone warning siren and everthing, now probably over 15 years ago. I'm not afriad.

edit was just some spelling, but yeah I have been banned, I said some really rude sh*t, but mostly stories about living around Ames and nothing against ISU

Notre Dame also has the Catholic thing going as well. Plus in the 60's/70's they were pretty much one of the only teams that played on television. They were one of the only teams that played nationally on the radio before television. How much different are they now from Alabama or Texas or Ohio State or Michigan? Most of their fans didn't attend that school. I also know a lot of ISU fans who didn't go to ISU. Including myself. Why in the #$%^ wouldn't you want a large number of fans that didn't attend your school? Sounds pretty snobbish if you ask me.

They make the playoffs quite a bit actually. Did you forget last year? They'll be in it next year too. People need to get over the whole conference thing. They're not joining one. They're not leaving the ACC either. Too bad. I would love it if 5 Big 12 schools played them every year.
JMU is in the playoffs............and ISU didn't get a chance last year or the ref ball Purdy senior year?. Does anyone think james madison will beat ohio state.................I'll take bets on that.

I also don’t think there is as much parity as you think between the actual top teams this year and those on the fringe
Agree. 1-3 elite teams every year that are "head and shoulders" above. Then about 10-15 others all within 6 points of each other.

That's why so much arguing about the last spot or two into the playoff. Whether it was the 4th team or the 12th team, there's always about 6 that have an argument.

If I was the CFP committee, I would just make sure the elite team(s) that year made it (which they probably already have in a 12 team format). Then go pure wins/losses from there, with ties broken by best wins and worst losses.

No, why would we want another texas/oklahoma that gets every call. I could name like 10 games we lost because of ref favoritism of blatant calls. There are so many example it would take weeks to post them all.

Yeah, I was at that game. Not only what you posted, but they were giving UT very generous spots after their offensive plays. And ISU was getting very ****** spots.

I think the Big 12 would be wise to help Notre Dame fill out their football schedule if they leave the ACC. If ND does anything in the short term, I think they'll go football independent (with no official football conf partnership) with other sports in Big East.

Then all eyes including ND will be on what happens to the ACC when their contract is done. If SEC/B10 want more teams, ND might finally feel forced to join a conference. If not, I think a B12/ACC merger or breakaway of top teams of some sort with a new partnership with ND seems a real possibility.
