Does the Big 12 want Notre Dame?

The only way The Big 10, SEC, or...the Big 12 would take ND is if they are all in for all sports. I don't see any of those conferences making a deal like ND currently has in the ACC.

a scheduling allliance like the acc has would be fine i think. Gives a ratings pop for ND’s away games at b12 teams

I don’t know I could see the big 12 doing that for a number of reasons. Don’t think ND would go for it but that’s just a win for the big12

Already do for hockey but yeah it would need to be as a full member
Yeah, I think they’re playing it smart.

If I were to indulge my conspiratorial side I’d say putting Miami in over ND was more about pushing them into the Big 10 than the perception of fairness.

I’d bet a small amount of money ND is in the Big 10 within 5-7 years.

Notre Dame is a victim of their own policies. They wanted to have participation in the ACC but not membership. When push came to shove, the ACC prioritized its membership. I get why Notre Dame would be pissed when this happens, but that's a product of your own decisions, brother.

How are they a victim of their own policy? Do you think they would've gotten in over Miami if they were a full member of the ACC? Really? The ACC's tiebreaker is so stupid they probably would've left Notre Dame out of the championship game like they did Miami. Miami wasn't the issue. It was Alabama. They were screwed over because of the SEC bias, not because they aren't in a conference. BYU is a full member of a conference and they got screwed over as well. If Notre Dame wanted the same deal with the Big 12 the Big 12 would be crazy not to take it. Notre Dame brings a lot of money into the ACC and the the ACC did them dirty.

Where else can they go after what happened with the playoffs this yr?
I assume BBall and Olympic sports would go back to Big East.

Football is another story. They’d have to fill that schedule out somehow.

Nah, if they wanted to push them in then they wouldn’t give them special privileges and just say you have to be a full member of the conference to get into the playoffs.

The SEC wouldn’t want ND in the big ten so that wouldn’t happen and ND loves their independence to an asinine degree

I doubt ND would stoop to playing us truck stop schools, but if they wanted to park their other sports in the Big East and get a 4-6 game football scheduling agreement with the Big 12 to fill out their schedule I'm sure we'd jump on it. Enhances our media value, gets us some high visibility games, and keeps ND out of another conference. Nothing good comes out of them going to the B1G or ACC. Of course this would only last until a Big 12 school bumped them out of the playoffs.

One million times this. Big ten would trip over themselves trying to add them as fast as possible.
Yep. B1G would welcome ND with open arms and a full blueblood share of the conference pie. What the B1G won't do is bend over like the ACC did, giving ND every condition and consideration they want, which just so happened to include the football program not actually being a part of the conference. I was glad to see the ACC campaign for Miami.

They just learned that the special deal they negotiated with the CFP last year isn't worth the paper it's written on, because like everybody in the Big 12 who doesn't win the championship game already knows, the committee is happy to justify anything to achieve a predetermined outcome.

I think the Big 10 could reasonably promise ND would never have to play in the Big 10 championship game.
