That’s the biggest difference. We are so much better defensively. We have the team who can switch and trap again like we did in the early TJ years… but this team is excellent on offense too.

What gets me is that it was a 4 point game at half, and Purdue was making some shots and turning us over. I was like "alright, gonna be a battle, as expected. We gotta stay sharp."

The utter dominance in the second half was...something.

I liked TJs interview with John Walters, where he said "It was 4 points at half. We talked about it and how it should be double digits, and then went out and set that right." I might be a word off, but the intent was there.

Let's compare rosters:

How will we replace gilbert? Amazingly toure is just better than gilbert at everything. It's shocking.

How will we replace curt? Improvements by milan, heise, Jefferson and the contributions from Nelson do an adequate job.

Lipsey is on another level. Buchanan is an upgrade.

This team is better than last year. We will lose some, but we are gonna be so hard to beat (impossible if we keep shooting like this).

I would've thought this was crazy two weeks ago, but Toure right now is an upgrade to Keshon and I loved Keshon. In control, doesn't need to dominate the ball, and completely throws off the opposition's offense with his ball pressure. And now he's hitting threes?! Just an incredible pickup from the high school ranks

Nitpicking here but Josh’s turnovers were disturbing and he kept trying to slow penetrate into the low paint without success. Not his A game today. Fantastic overall team performance at both ends. Painter and boys were in shock. Hammer time for the Hawks which is one very good point guard and NWMSU/Drake undersized transfers. Probably be low scoring due to McCollum’s correct strategy.

Yeah he has to understand he can't dribble without purpose against good teams. They baited him multiple times into dribbling into baseline traps. He's much better attacking quickly. Purdue had him scouted well. He at least hit some threes today to make up for his lack of production down low.

Well come Thursday we'll see if Stirtz is the best point guard in the state like media likes to claim. Personally I hope Tamin and Toure beat him like a rented mule.
