Matt Campbell to Penn State??

Anyone upset at Campbell has anger issues. It's completely unhinged to fault someone for taking a better job and doing it with extra class (wouldn't even entertain conversations during the season). He could have left for many better jobs, but he only did for a top job.

He took Iowa State to our ceiling. It's a new world of NIL and B1G/SEC dominance compared to when he started. I too would take a top tier job vs staying in a conference predestined to fade into obscurity.

Hoiberg in Nebraska is the job he settled for after the one he left us for didn't work.. If Campbell fails at Penn State I'll root for him at the next job lol
What is the football equivalent of Nebraska basketball? Creighton?

That doesn't sound like Campbell at all. Maybe we need to tap the brakes a bit on the media forecasting here.
I think it’s probably what happened, but I think the media environment is almost more to blame. Because he’s not going to tell the team until after he accepts the deal, which I get, but then this gets leaked. There’s not a lot he can do except say he walks if it gets out, or that Penn State needs to fire the people responsible for the leak before he’ll sign.

I think it’s absolutely fair for players to be upset with him though and it would be fair for them to give him hell in the meeting. That’s the price you pay for taking a different job.

Amazing how much undeserved negativity Hoiberg gets. He grew up in Ames, went to ISU as a player, coached ISU, and got us out of many years of sucking. Nicknamed him after the town. All this negativity because he went to a nearby college, a college in another conference and a college we rarely cross paths with on the recruiting trail.

Penn State isn't going to be at the Ohio State level ever again. Will PSU fans be willing to accept that reality?

I'm not as sure.

With Nebraska it's 100% obvious and the expectation changing is finally happening.

I thought Oklahoma would face this at some time but I'm not as sure. I'd say Penn State is like OU in terms of a comp. They've actively chosen to make their pond bigger and far more competitive, but unlike Nebraska they didn't do that with the reality they are a total guppy.

Well by not taking conversations during the season, they still lost four straight and he left Iowa State in an awful spot for a coaching search and right after signing day...

As of 15 minutes ago, players have not been told anything. FYI
That seems like who would be CMCs first to tell after he made the decision.

Does it feel like these media people are running with a rumor that one of them started. Like they all are repeating On3, and repeating and repeating. Hell our local guys, are also just repeating this first post that was posted by On3.

Do we know this is for sure? It seems really weird that the players are in the dark. I dont doubt it being real, just that the media is not exactly trustworthy.
