Matt Campbell to Penn State??

Kalshi is a money laundering scheme, and facing class action lawsuits. Lol it’s a joke.
**** Kalshi, Polymarket, and all the other "betting" sites that do nothing but scam people out of money. They are a cancer on society and do nothing but prey on vulnerable people with the false promise of easy winnings.

Aren’t agents basically lawyers when you boil it down?

He may not have a full agent, but I assume he’s had a lawyer review everything to make sure nothing’s wrong.

Nitter.net. I dont know anything, apparently their was an insider saying the tone shifted in the ISU athletic department.

Respectfully, what the heck does a “tone shift” even mean? I have to assume one of the reasons Pollard has kept Campbell this long is an understanding that he can talk to whomever he wants whenever he wants. I’m not remotely shocked Penn State is going to roll out the red carpet tonight, especially with the AD getting desperate. What will come of it, who knows. I’m with @ZmillaTLK, people have come calling before, and we knew then they wouldn’t be the last and that Campbell might go with them one day. Knowing nothing going on behind the scenes, my gut tells me the “smoke” is just that Penn State has whiffed on everyone else and is targeting Campbell. Which makes them the 274th team to do so, if my math is correct

I used to work for a basketball agent for 5 years - they used to be - but not anymore.

Who you know/clout is way more important than actual legal knowledge.
Most agents now have "lawyers" or legal counsel that'll help with contracts, etc.

Everything you've heard about sports agents, the sleaziness, manipulation, etc is all true and probably 10x worse than the public knows.

Although, in this context, I would think the coaching side of the agency business is way different than what I experienced.

Now I don't know why anyone would want to take the job. With Franklin taking most of the recruits and signing day past, the cupboard is bare. Whoever takes this job will be starting from scratch.
Eight-figure paycheck, top 12 NIL collective, one tier below the "blue bloods", hungry and giant fanbase (top five by population), and in one of the top two leagues in a sport where all the money is dramatically racing towards the top of the food chain.

I know all of you “mature” people out there are on the side of if he leaves so be it. But that is not the mindset you should have. Sure he’s a grown man who coaches a sport that we frankly have no influence in or on. But a bad couple of years is not something the athletic program can survive anymore. You can’t go 2-10 every other year and expect to stick around in a power conference anymore, this isn’t 2004. Matt leaving could trigger an invite to the mountain west or MAC in a handful of years.
This is a spiral, holy cow.

We’re not going to the MAC cause MC leaves. If Super League happens in 10 years, MC wouldn’t influence whether we’re in the “ins” or “outs”.

But if we suck, it would. We are nationally relevant right now, but we are 1 bad hire or 1 hire that doesn't work out to be Oregon State or Michigan State.

unrelated but these gambling sites that somehow skirt around being gambling websites like Kalshi are the worst. Doing a sports bet every once in a while is fun but can we not insert gambling into every aspect of our lives?
I think that trend was started when the World Series of Poker got so popular a decade or so ago. Those players were basically celebrities at that point. And they all publicly made all kinds of random side bets on everything with each other, and those side bets were covered by ESPN etc a lot. That started this trend of making random bets on random stuff.

Can you give me a timeline of events that would lead us to the MAC? Oregon State is in a G5 conference now because the P12 fell apart. Not cause a coach got fired.

OSU and WSU were actually two of the more successful programs in the P12 when it collapsed.

Who gets left out of the 3super conferences they are talking about? The ****** teams left in the Big 12 and ACC. And we are a bad hire or two away from being a ****** big 12 team.

Again, I'll be cheering for us no matter what, but I do find it annoying that people think that this wouldn't be a huge deal for our football program.

There is a plane landing in a hour or two in Ames. That plane was in Salt Lake city for a few hours on Tuesday. Could be a wild coincidence.
That is a SAAB 2000. Probably the plan for the MBB team to Purdue tomorrow. Unless we are seeing different planes
