YouTube TV Getting Ability to Split Into 4 Screens

They raised my ESPN plus $1.00 two days after I subscribed. The Disney actions, to me, indicate a sinking ship or at least its really damaged. Giving more in use value than you extract in cash value used to be a thing. We are now just waiting to see what we will be given for a price they demand. I am guessing I will have some radio games this winter. I see ESPN as the bad guy in this situation.

Disney made a profit of $4.97 BILLION last year. That was up over 111% from 2023.

I’m not sure that not hitting that “numbers go up at an increasing rate for infinity” goal equals a sinking ship, but who knows what the execs at Disney consider most important.

If they continued accepting the same carriage rates from Google/YTTV instead of trying to extort them for more, Disney would be just fine. Yes, they’re the bad guys in this situation, you’re right.

I think it’s less a sinking ship and more wanting people to move over to their services, and this is a good time to try to get people to do it.

As a YTTV subscriber I'm getting desperate about finding a way to watch our game vs Miss State on Monday which is on ESPNU. Looks like I'm gonna have to do the fubo free trial. If anyone has a better suggestion, I'd love to hear it!

Just go watch at your favorite sports bar.

Planning on either the Fubo free trial or Sling one day pass.

But I feel like their actions are more of a private equity fund that is squeezing all the profit possible in the short term with disregard tot he long term success. Once they start to get people used to not having it, will they decide the didn’t need it in the first place? And now they’ve cleared out all that high priced on air talent, does anyone watch any of their original programming?

Was hoping this would get done before Saturday but doesn't feel like that is going to happen.

if they already went through last weekened and monday night football, they don't seem to be in a hurry.

The only hope I think is if the NFL gets involved. The MNF ratings were down 20% over week 9 last year - and the game included the Cowboys. This week is Eagles-Packers, two very popular teams. I have to think the folks at 345 Park Avenue are not happy about all this. They do have the power and influence to get them to get something done. Hoping they flex their muscle.

It has probably been 25 years since I watched anything other than live sports on ESPN. Just don't have any interest.

For anyone going down the free trial route after having done it before:

You can stick a '+' at the end of your gmail account name and the incoming emails will be routed to your inbox, i.e. [email protected] emails will go to [email protected], while the account name is new to fubo

Wait, wtf is this sorcery. Never heard of this in my life.

So you can just put + anything at the end and it will all go to your normal email?

Yep, dots also have no impact on gmail delivery and give a path to making new accounts at other places too
