Did anyone else watch this on HBO Max last night?

It's pretty good, I thought. Definitely some very creepy/scary moments to it, and the end is downright shocking.

I think they've definitely expanded past the known source material, but not in ways that feel forced. Also has an interesting Cold War sub-plot as part of the story that is intriguing.
 
When the previews make you laugh out loud...it's better than some of the so-called "comedy" films.

Watched and thought it was decent. I'll give it a couple more episodes to breath and see where it goes. Never a huge fan of expanding source material that ends up retconning a story. And like @Clonehomer said, HBO hasn't been killing that.
