We haven't had a good thread about dreams in awhile. Whatcha got?

I finally stopped having the one about missing my college finals or forgetting where the final was being held. That sucker went on for about 20+ years after I graduated. Now, I barely remember any dreams. Does anyone else dream less as they've gotten older?

I sometimes have dreams where I'm back as a student at ISU, but at my current age. At least I don't have to get someone to buy me beer on the weekends!

I've been having a recurring dream for probably the past 5 years or more. I dream that we're moving away from the DSM area and back to CR to the house we lived in before moving out here. It's very strange, and each time I have, I think to myself DURING THE DREAM that it can't be real, that it's just a dream but every time I have it it seems more and more real to the point where I convince myself DURING THE DREAM that this time, it's really happening. I believe we've really sold our house here, I'm walking through the CR house and outside, greeting neighbors, etc.

Weird stuff. The little bit of research I've done on it has said it might be a sign that I'm longing for a simpler time when daughters were much younger, problems were much simpler, etc. Which honestly makes a lot of sense.

Last night, I dreamed we were on vacation somewhere and kept losing our child. Like...couldn't find him, then we'd find him again. Then we'd lose him again. Not so restful sleep.

I still have the "finals" and similar dreams and I graduated 50 years ago. I think I have more dreams now as an elder, especially if I wake and than fallen asleep again in the morning.

pre-teen: dreams about flying
teen: dreams about falling
20s - 40s: missing a college final or being chased
present: dreams about peeing where I wake up with more terror until I make sure it was just a dream
future me: my dreams will probably become a reality

I used to have a recurring dream that I got a letter from ISU stating they had completed an audit and found that I didn't really graduate. And I didn't just need a few credits to graduate. I would have to go back for a couple years. In the dream I grapple with whether or not to go back. Is it really needed at this point? I've got a good job and am a few years away from retirement.

The weird thing was how realistic it was. I started to have dreams about the dream itself, like some kind of Inception ****. In the dream about the dream I'd be thinking stuff like, "Remember when this happened in a dream? And now it's actually real."

It was pretty messed up, but after a couple years it just stopped. I've tried to pinpoint if there was a life change that may have caused it to stop. I did get out of the insurance industry and back to an office finance/accounting career, but I don't know if that would have been enough to trigger it. Maybe subconsciously my brain was telling me I didn't really need a degree to be an insurance agent.

I'll tell you what, if you want to dream some weird **** take magnesium before bed.

I took magnesium during pregnancy to try and help with some horrible leg cramps. Can confirm those dreams are WILD.

I got down a rabbit hole of watching old football games from when I played or the general era. It was fun at first but it's literally a time warp and got unhealthy after I realized I was analyzing things like back then.

Since then I've had weird dreams of some losses etc that were unpleasant and not sure why since the teams I was on were in the 'good, not great' category.

I have a more vivid memory of things like that than a lot of people which is a blessing and a curse.

I graduated 20+ years ago too and I still occasionally get college-based dreams like I forgot what my class schedule was or freaked out that I had a final for a class that I hadn't been going to all semester or something weird like that. I was an RA in the dorms for 2.5 years too and some of my dreams may be related to something I had to do with that job too.

I had a real life issue when I nearing graduation at ISU where I thought I was going to have an issue where I had 1 class I may have to stay an additional semester just to take that class to complete my degree due to some BS pre-req stuff I had issues getting into classes in prior semesters. I got that issue taken care of but I still get dreams where I am freaked out that I am set to graduate and ISU notifies me that I am missing a required training even though that never actually happened in real life.

I quit having the missing a college exam dream about 5 years ago. Recently, I've started having the missing a high school exam dream. My wife does say that I get less mature as I age.

Oh golly gee ;) I've had both the college haven't been to class all quarter (yes, I'm that old) and it's time for the final, and also the "I'm brand new to a high school and need to sign up for classes" dream. During the latter I keep wondering why I need to register for senior year of HS classes when I've already gotten BS and MS at Iowa State.

Over the past few months, I've been dreaming pretty much every night about probably missing a flight, usually to Paris, because I didn't pack or don't have my passport or won't get back from wherever I am in time to catch the flight, OR I don't have money to take with me. All of these dreams take place at night, in the dark somewhere. Not very restful sleep because I keep waking up, too. To clarify -- in the dreams themselves, it's night.

It wasn't a dream. You sold your house to me. I need you out by Monday.

I have this exact dream from time to time as well.

I've had the college dreams, flying, teeth falling out, and sitting on a toilet in the middle of a public area with people everywhere. Most of these suggest that I was feeling vulnerable or things were out of my control.
