JTS Improvements - Want More

It makes you wonder how much it costs to upgrade the lights? Cant be more than a million? Could be dead wrong but lights feel like a cheap upgrade.
I seem to recall it’s paid for in an agreement for advertising positioning on the ribbons?

Am I remembering the wrong thing?

Guessing we'd save quite a bit keeping the current light structures, unless they aren't compatible with the LED setup. Can't see why they wouldn't be, but Principal Park needed all new towers when they upgraded to LED in 2017.

Strange the things people complain about. I guess we don't have enough flashy lights.

Its all part of creating a top notch environment. ISU has made massive strides in this area over the last 15 years or so, but the lights are one of the things that still stand out compared to even newer high school stadiums at this point. Thankfully it sounds like those are on the planned agenda.

Not a lighting expert by any means, but given the current lights were installed in 2002, they may be nearing the end of their lifespan or due for work that'd cost its own money as well so it may just be time to replace them from that standpoint.

Did I miss the announcement when they are going vertical on the remaining buildings in CyTown? A Q3 2027 completion timeline seems like it's fading away (575,000 square feet doesn't happen fast)

It can go up fast if it isnt all finished square feet though. Im guessing there will be plenty of empty shells looking for build out tenants.

They may also be finding out how difficult of a sell commercial space is in some places right now.

Georgia Lights - start at around 1:45. That's the light system most SEC schools now have. I've been to a couple night games at UGA, and in person it's pretty awesome.

After living in ATL and visiting a number of SEC stadiums, I can honestly say the atmosphere at Jack Trice really isn't far behind. A testament to how far things have come.

I don't think it's worth complaining about, but I do think modern light systems can add a lot to an environment.

What's really funny to me is that new lights would likely draw complaints from people as well (see the new lights in Hilton, for example).

Last I knew, half was supposed to start after football season and be done before the ‘26 season, the other half after the ‘26 season.

That former would include the stage towards Hilton.

Am I misremembering?

It's taking me 12-months to build 36 apartments in Polk County. I either have a terrible contractor or they are not factoring in the interior buildout of the shells

Alabama has some really cool stuff with theirs.

My only complaint about the ones in Hilton is they don’t utilize them very well. You could get some cool lighting and storm affects but they really just go with like a basic preset. Does anyone know if we can change the colors for the ones in Hilton?

Some of the other buildings are supposed to start next year and finish by the end of 2027 from what Pollard has been saying. The majority of it will get built in a 2-3 year period.

Do they need to finish any more than that, to make it functional? Don’t corporate chains have their own contractors for their businesses?

We need "SEC Lights" for the night games. Waukee NW even has them.

Would have been amazing for that white out. Flashing Red after a score. That's a pretty low hanging fruit that is reasonable.
I'm sure the light levels required for college games far exceed the requirements for Iowa high school stadiums.

Wasnt it said that a new light system is either in the works or planned for in the near future? I swear this was talked about here before and Pollard or someone said it was coming at some point.
