Jontez Williams out for the year

I mean, you're right of course that it could literally happen on any play. If not the end of this game then it could have happened in the first quarter of the next game.

But that just broadens out the point not to necessarily blame it on him playing in a specific quarter and why its important to minimize the number of plays for key players whenever possible as each time the ball is snapped every player has a certain % of risk. Over time, an increased number of plays will result in an increased number of injuries.

(Also, on a less related note, why it can be an advantage for teams in easier conferences that blow through weak competition where they can pull players more regularly, and thus their odds are greater that they enter the postseason with fewer injuries)

These are valid points but in a normal game that's still in doubt, those same number of snaps are going to occur, or even more if it's more of a team that chips its way down field vs. AZ being more explosive.

Or any other point for that matter?

I simply don't understand why anyone uses this narrative time and time again.

It's really weird.
I don’t understand why you would think people saying this is weird. If it happened in the first quarter, while the game was in doubt, that is completely understandable.

If a bunch of fans could see the game was sealed with 4 minutes to go and we should pull our starters to avoid injury, why couldn’t the coaches? This was and should have been 100% preventable.

On Williams and Blum they said he could go back in and now he is out for the year.

not going to act like I am in the know or know what they had heard post-game. Maybe they were just relaying info from the staff. I'm sure they will address it on a future pod.

Going forward, I (respectfully) think they're full of **** when it comes to injuries. Includes the staff and anyone in the "know".

They also said that they had no program information and were just making a judgement based on the fact that the trainers did not take his helmet away, and was laughing on the sidelines.

What's the "this was avoidable!" line? This happened with 3 minutes left, what about 4 minutes? 5? 6? The whole quarter?

Can someone post the Week 5 Depth Chart, I can't seem to locate it. I am trying to get my brain around the plan and people are mixing in S and Star players names.

"Why is X player still in the game? He could get hurt."
"Why is X player on the bench? Is he in trouble?"
"Why is X player on the bench. Is he hurt?"
"Why aren't our backups getting more playing time?"
"Why isn't there any cohesion in our offense/defense/line play/special teams?
"Why are our guys not conditioned properly?"
"What are the coaches thinking?"

I’m not sure what line you’re referring to or if you’re agreeing or disagreeing with me. Jontez’s injury happened with 3 minutes to go, up 3 scores.

I take the tact if I, an uneducated football fan, could have seen this happening and thus wanted to take action to remove risk prior to it happening, then yes this should have been avoided by someone earning millions to make those decisions.

I'm too lazy to listen to the press conference. Does anyone know what the actual issue is? Like a broken bone or a more serious soft tissue injury?

If you knew Williams was going get hurt before it happened I'm legit impressed and would like to schedule a phone call to pick your brain about some things.

I want my starters playing. You can't replicate game time experience and I want them getting that experience for the games that matter. We were playing a B12 team for christs sake. It's not like they were playing in the 4th quarter in a blow out to South Dakota. They need reps to be ready for Tech and Utah. Injuries happen, that's part of football. Spare me the "they shouldn't have been in the game" BS.
