Jontez Williams out for the year

I don’t personally know how hard it is to recover from those kinds of injuries, but really feel for those guys who would kill to be back on the field and have long roads ahead of them.

I literally need to remind myself to log out for a bit - I have faith in Campbell/Heacock to make the best out of it, but these injuries are still impacting my sanity

This. The game was well in hand, and there are already injury concerns at the position.

I get it - no staff is perfect and it’s tough in real time. It’s still hard to look past how glaringly stupid it was to have some of the most important starters on the field - regardless of position - at that point of the game. I’m sure I wasn’t alone yelling at the tv about starters still being in even before the injury happened.

If you’re paying me $3-4 mill per year, and with designs on reaching the postseason, there’s no rationalizing this f*ck up. It’s not acceptable. Campbell didn’t have a good reason in the post-game either.
He absolutely did. Never felt like the game was in hand. You could feel it in the stadium too. even though it was a 22 pt game, it never felt comfortable. Said the same thing to the folks around me, all remarked the same

This is no different than if he got hurt in the 2nd or 3rd quarter. Super sucks, but the minute he gets taken out, and AZ hits a long TD pass EVERYONE would be complaining about Tez not being out there

Oh for ***** sake. There’s obviously a judgement call involved but it isn’t cut and dried. Grow up.

I mean, is that because it wasn't in hand or was it because as ISU fans we all have the nut cups permanently affixed?

The win probability had crossed 90% before halftime.

So with Cumming-Colman that is 3 out of our starting five DBs out. Taylor, Bell, and Patton are quality players but after that its a real drop off.

Probably a little of both tbh?

Also, its college FB. Hard to put much stock in win probabilities IMO

Cooper got hurt in practice, do we just cancel practices forever? You just can't mitigate away every risk, which is good news for the people that are just waiting in the wings to hurl criticism.
Am I to understand that you’re arguing Jontez’s injury - a fourth quarter injury in a game well in hand - wasn’t able to be mitigated? Help me understand.

A missed FG and two timely INTs help keep down the scoring, but AZ was moving the ball well most of the game.

KCC isn't out.

LOL, respectfully, I cannot agree with you and the "folks" around you. We absolutely dominated the game. There wasn't a second where it felt like AZ would make it a game, not even the score before halftime.

Nobody had a crystal ball of when injuries are going to happen. Do you pull starters at the start of the 4th quarter if you're leading to avoid injuries? Only if you're ahead by a certain amount? At a certain time in the quarter? This is just hind sight finger pointing because it makes people feel smart, "I said before this happened they should pull the starters!", "Campbell is so dumb!".

Do you feel better about this if Williams goes down in the 3rd quarter? 1st Quarter? Why? The result is the same.

We were a missed FG and a bad Fifita pass away from it being a close game. Wouldnt call that dominated necessarily
