When SEC/big 10 does it, it means that team is good. When the big 12 does it, it means the team that lost is bad so the win isn’t impressive.Yeah Big 12 teams have to do that to stay even and not drop.
Yeah that was brought up and probably the case. Confusing. The post still wasn't accurate, left out #10 Boise St. last year.It says since 2016.....so maybe they are saying after 2016 not including.
So true and Fox and ESPN keep pushing the narrative that their league teams are head and shoulders against both the ACC and B12. But we still have people thinking the B12 is going to get 2 teams into the playoff. Only way it happens if we have two undefeated teams meeting in the championship game and the other conference eat each other. When SEC/big 10 does it, it means that team is good. When the big 12 does it, it means the team that lost is bad so the win isn’t impressive.
Alabama got ranked #11 in the final CFP poll last year. They were 9-3 and had recently gotten embarrassed by a 6-6 OU team who only won 2 conference games. It’s going to get worse as we get deeper in conference play and teams like Ol Miss, LSU, Penn State and Alabama lose to middle of the pack teams and instead of punishing them they will reward their opponents and we see more 3-4 loss teams enter the rankings.
This is why I don't understand the support of the 5+11 CFP model by Big 12 fans. Makes no sense. All it's going to do is lock you in at 1 bid instead of 2.It’s going to get worse as we get deeper in conference play and teams like Ol Miss, LSU, Penn State and Alabama lose to middle of the pack teams and instead of punishing them they will reward their opponents and we see more 3-4 loss teams enter the rankings.

Koki Riley moved Iowa State up to 24 from 25 in his ballot.ISU was the only team to win Saturday that did not move up, schools like TT and Texas had a bye and moved up one spot, but ISU blows out an undefeated Arizona team and we get nothing.
Those wins were 9 years ago.Ok, so are we back to only counting it as a ranked win if the opponent finishes ranked? I tried doing that and was told no, it's if they're ranked when you play, like ISU v. KSU this year. Because if it's if they're ranked when you play, they have a lot more than that.
PSU beat #2 tOSU in 2016, who finished #6.
EDIT*** - PSU also beat Wisconsin in 2016 who was ranked #6 at the time they played and finished #9.
EDITEDIT*** - PSU beat Washington in 2017 who was ranked #11 when they played and finished #16.
EDITEDITEDIT*** - Ooooops, saw the dude was referring to top-10 wins, disregard EDITEDIT***
Wonder what CMC has done in this timeframe. And with recruiting classes 20+ ranks behind what PSU is getting annually.
You’re right the original tweet mentions those wins. Only thing that’s wrong is the wording of “since 2016”, and if you’re arguing that then you’re missing the entire point.
Yep my bad, it's their win over #10 SMU that he's not listing.
I wasn't looking at the individual ballots just the final ballot that came out today.Koki Riley moved Iowa State up to 24 from 25 in his ballot.
Just going by the timeline the guy who wrote the post put out there. Those wins were 9 years ago.
They were ranked #10 in AP poll when they played, 11 was their CFP seed.
