If history tells us anything, handing the program over to the coach’s failson always works out. This should be fun.
I had to chuckle a bit at this. Back in the 1972-73 basketball season, I was living in Colorado, and Long Beach State came in to play CU. My roommate at the time had gotten his degree at Creighton and had been dorm friends with a 6'11" dude named Nate somebody who had played for Creighton and then transferred to Long Beach. So we decided to go watch the game and meet up with Nate on the floor after it ended. My roommate asked Nate how he liked his classes. Nate broke out into a big laugh and said, "Classes? Man, I don't go to no classes!" It seems he had a very nice place in Santa Monica and only went to campus for practice and games.
The Long Beach coach at the time was Jerry Tarkanian. Jerry and Bruce may be a generation or two apart but belong to the same demographic. What on earth would make us think Auburn players go to class? Yeah, I know. Different rules.
Might be too young for a senate seat at only 65. Not really sarcasm, average age is 64.
Apparently it's really only a 2 year deal. They can fire him after year 2 with no money owed but can pick up years 3-5 cheap if he does well.
Probably fair for both sides.

I've hated Bruce Pearl's guts since he was on Tom Davis' staff and got into it with Johnny Orr after the Lafester Rhodes dropped 54 on their asses. He's been a shady mfer since the 80's.

He suggests around minute 12 that he's not running for senate. Instead he'll be "Auburn's senator", whatever that means.
