Wentz has 2 more trial games. If they still play well, I’m not opposed to going with Wentz and letting JJ run the scout team to develop like they wanted him to do last yearNot saying Wentz is setting the world on fire, but the whole team seems to have had a little extra zip in their step right from the start. Like they knew which QB gives them the best chance to win.
I'm annoyed that for the most part, I've seen a shrunk-down offense playing closer to the LOS. Little bit faster reads and easier checkdowns. Not saying Wentz is setting the world on fire, but the whole team seems to have had a little extra zip in their step right from the start. I’m not exactly sure what you’re saying but Mizutani said earlier this week that actually more of the playbook is available now with Wentz. McCarthy wasn’t picking up the offense yet. I don’t think he’s very smart. Certainly no Brock Purdy.I'm annoyed that for the most part, I've seen a shrunk-down offense playing closer to the LOS. Little bit faster reads and easier checkdowns.
Where was this the first two weeks?
In Des Moines and they switched to the Patriots Steelers game. I do not care!I thankfully still have the game in Ames. This is fun.
KOC offenses, even with QBs off the street, have consistently been in the top of NFL in longest time to throw and usage of long-developing routes. Been that way all 4 years of his tenure. That's not a formula for success with a brand-new young QB and 3 dead OL guys.I’m not exactly sure what you’re saying but Mizutani said earlier this week that actually more of the playbook is available now with Wentz. Two components of the pass protection issues worth mentioning are the quarterback’s tendency to hold onto the ball for too long and the original play design. Only Justin Fields is taking a longer time on average to throw than McCarthy through two games. Meanwhile, the Vikings have only run three quick-game concepts thus far this season, according to Pro Football Focus, more than only the New York Jets and Chicago Bears. Pro Football Focus classifies quick game as “concepts with pass route breaks coming under 7 yards across the board.” Perhaps most telling is that the Vikings rank 32nd in quick-game attempts per game since the beginning of 2023 (2.7) and first in deep drop plays per game (30.7).
Yup. I don’t imagine McCarthy starts again this season if Wentz continues to improve and win.Not saying Wentz is setting the world on fire, but the whole team seems to have had a little extra zip in their step right from the start. Like they knew which QB gives them the best chance to win.
The one thing I wouldn't worry about with KOC at the helm, is the locker room.Yup. I don’t imagine McCarthy starts again this season if Wentz continues to improve and win.
If KOC did pull Wentz and they are winning that would likely destroy the locker room.
I agree which is why he wouldn’t make that choice if the Vikes are winningThe one thing I wouldn't worry about with KOC at the helm, is the locker room.
