For all of you “referees are never held accountable” people, ESPN is reporting they removed the crew who did the KU/Mizzou game from their next scheduled game Friday because they allowed Mizzou to punt instead of kickoff after their first TD.

Also how does one just decide to punt instead of kickoff?
In other news, Iowa State officials reported they have received another apology letter. When asked about it, Big12 administration said it was a clerical error and it was assumed that Iowa State was involved.
The report said they removed them. They were scheduled to work Friday and they were removed and replaced.
What about the official that waved off the kick catch interference flag? I would love to see the official statement from the B10 on that one why it was justified being waved off.
Don't hold your breath here. B10 has to prop up as many lower level teams as possible so they get more playoff teams

I had a supervisor who used to say, "I can defend poor judgment. You're human. But if you screw up a rule, I can't help you."
Only when it’s a safety can it be punted on the “kickoff” (technically a free kick) otherwise it has to be a drop kick or a place kick.
Place kick or drop kick only, kind of a wild thing for officials to screw up, very basic football stuff and it's not like a lot is happening at a kickoff.
Literally nobody seemed to care or notice, announcers were like oh weird he's kicking it in the air, and then the game moved on.
I didn’t see him on the sideline, but it creates such a huge advantage since Mizzou was already back 15 yards due to a penalty, they get a great punt with great hangtime so KU didn’t get a great return
They work for the B10 and did their job flawlessly in their eyes
