Random ISU FB player you remember

Jeff Shudak. A great athlete in any sport and a tough SOB. People usually don’t associate those qualities with a place kicker, but Jeff was definitely both. I knew him since I was 6 years old. He was great at every sport and was a very nice guy. But for a 5 ft 9 or 5 foot 10 guy he took sh#t from no one.
Was Jeff the one that got suspended for a game. I believe it was against Oklahoma and a game we almost won.

INSTANT REACTION: Jamie Pollard set to retire within the next year

We all know the great things Pollard did for ISU, but I can list 3 off the top of my head that were not so good for ISU:
1) He was very reluctant and slow to implement funding of athletes, monetarily.
2) He put off allowing alcohol sales in the stadium until he was pushed to do it.
3) He said some pretty bad things about the fans of ISU; basically insinuating that the fans were slobs.
Didn't agree with any of that either. But when you're in one place for 21 years, you're going to have a few missteps.

Looking at the whole body of work, he was a great AD for ISU, and I'm certainly not "conflicted" on it. It was probably time for him to hang it up, and that's fine; we'll all reach that point in our careers.

Random ISU FB player you remember

During the CF after dark Litecast, they started bringing up random players they remember. Here are a few random ones that came to my head.

Demond Tucker - DL - 2015 to 2016? He was really quick for a DT, but kind of fizzled out his senior year.

Jeremiah Schwartz - RB, I remember a coach calling him "a rolling ball of butcher knives". He started at the Nebraska win in Lincoln (8 TO game) but never did much. I think he transferred to Ohio or something.

Brett Medders - had a few big catches in the win against Iowa back in 2014? I think he is Lindsey Fennelly's brother.

Do you have any random ISU football players that stick in your head and what you remember them for?

Bird Migration and Misc Birding Thread

I will preface this by saying I am not a birder per se. A few days ago I was cleaning up a hosta bed on a remote area of my acreage. As I pulled and piled the weeds, I came across a nest on the groundthat I thought was abandoned. I moved a couple of feet away and mom came to investigate. I pulled the nest off my pile and placed it back where I thought it originated. After some investigation, I found that the bird was native to the habitat, but not really native to my area. Best guess it is a Wood thrush. I’ve seen brown thrush(thrashers) here before, but never these little guys. She has since deposited three eggs. Other than maybe exposing her more to predators all is well. I am also not a photographer so haven’t gotten a good pic of her yet.

Does Pollard Belong On "CyRushmore"? Hell No*

No one agrees except me; but Pollard was correct when he wanted ISU in a separate system than O$U, Texa$, P$U, Richigan, U$C. Even Indiana had much bigger revenue and much bigger NIL donations than ISU. We are overmatched in a rigged system. Whatever just happened to ISUFB ISUWBB,and Momcilivic is deeply wrong and is bound to continue. He got tired of fighting an unwinnable war.

Pollard announces his retirement

So you are buying the story he just decided to retire while he is building a project that he worked years on getting the financing and getting through the BOR, which is just completing the first of many buildings?
No one is saying he does not have a right to retire when he choses too, but I just find it odd that he chose to do so right in the middle of a legacy project that he had spent years trying to achieve.
Probably premature to reach this conclusion. Would not be surprised that JP will retain a part-time role with the CyTown project after he leaves the AD post. Doing so will enable the new AD's focus to be almost entirely on Athletics only.

Random ISU FB player you remember

I know there's a former QB that is huge into hunting and I think got into politics not too long ago. I forget the kids name. He saw a little bit of playing time early in his career then transferred to Tiffin University. Jimmy something?
Is it James Capello?
