Yuengling expanding distribution

Yuengling is a cheap beer that tastes better than other cheap beers.

That's all it is. That's the point of it. That's while I'll buy it over Busch Light.
I don't know how it'll go as time goes on but I hope that establishments keep it grouped with "domestics" and not a micro.

Wasn't sold here... ;)

I liken it to Spotted Cow or Michelob Golden Light for those old enough to remember. Can't get it and everyone talks about it, so FOMO sets in.

Not seeing the resemblance to MGD light. Yuengling is darker, maltier, higher ABV, higher IBU, and 150 calories vs about 110 for MGD Light. It seems closer to Michelob Amberbock than it does to MGD.

fwiw, I like Yuengling when I can get it on draft. Seems different out of a can, but that could have been due to the long haul it took to reach me in Iowa when I had it (prior to their distribution here).

If you like spotted cow, sam adams original, or exile ruthie, you might like Yuengling. I personally classify all those as fall/winter/spring lagers. Too heavy for a hot summer day

20+ years ago Michelob Golden Light wasn't sold in Iowa and people would drive to MN to bring back cases of it. Same as Spotted Cow today. Neither are great beers but have/had mythical status.

I get what you meant now. Similar in terms of market scarcity, not palatability.

I'm glad it's finally coming here because I think it's the best tasting cheap beer you can get. I like a good IPA and all but those get kind of expensive. I don't know how you beat Yuengling for $1 a can. It's way better than Busch or a Silver Bullet in my opinion.
I have never understood the appeal of IPA. To me it tastes like skunky weed smells, which is fine, but not exactly appealing. Its not what I call refreshing in any way, but again thats just my opinion. Obviously, some really like it given its popularity.

I love a smooth stout, a nice amber, and a good ale, etc. Actually, most beer I enjoy, depending on how, why, and where I am drinking it influences my choice in that instant. But I have never liked IPA, I have never found it good for any situation, but I realize everyone has different tastes.

So all that being said, what is the appeal, what do you find good, enjoyable, refreshing about IPA? Im not trying be argumentative, Im genuinely curious.
