Any time something gets a lot of attention, it's bound to get the "overrated" treatment.Yeah I am not understanding the hate. It is far better than any of the alterative American mass produced lagers.

In past the status buy, honestly 90% of the time I buy BL chelada because it helps my digestion.nothing. its a mass market lager. not bad but nothing to write home about.
I like those sometimes, but it's hard to drink more than one.In past the status buy, honestly 90% of the time I buy BL chelada because it helps my digestion.
For me it’s hard to drink just oneI like those sometimes, but it's hard to drink more than one.
If you are OLD Coors had that same thing going for it a long time ago.Wasn't sold here...
I liken it to Spotted Cow or Michelob Golden Light for those old enough to remember. Can't get it and everyone talks about it, so FOMO sets in.
It's not bad for a mass produced American Lager. I bought some today.
I don't know how it'll go as time goes on but I hope that establishments keep it grouped with "domestics" and not a micro.Yuengling is a cheap beer that tastes better than other cheap beers.
That's all it is. That's the point of it. That's while I'll buy it over Busch Light.
Same. If it's treated like a micro, it will flop. If it's treated like a macro, it will succeed.I don't know how it'll go as time goes on but I hope that establishments keep it grouped with "domestics" and not a micro.
I assume Coors paid for that placement but damn it worked.
According to a quick google, no, coors did not pay for product placement. What a gift they got, a free feature length commercial that was only second in popularity to Star Wars.I assume Coors paid for that placement but damn it worked.
That movie was a lot of fun. Reynolds and Fields really played well off of each other. It was a great teen ager movie.

20+ years ago Michelob Golden Light wasn't sold in Iowa and people would drive to MN to bring back cases of it. Same as Spotted Cow today. Neither are great beers but have/had mythical status. Not seeing the resemblance to MGD light. Yuengling is darker, maltier, higher ABV, higher IBU, and 150 calories vs about 110 for MGD Light. It seems closer to Michelob Amberbock than it does to MGD.
fwiw, I like Yuengling when I can get it on draft. Seems different out of a can, but that could have been due to the long haul it took to reach me in Iowa when I had it (prior to their distribution here).
If you like spotted cow, sam adams original, or exile ruthie, you might like Yuengling. I personally classify all those as fall/winter/spring lagers. Too heavy for a hot summer day

That movie was a lot of fun. Reynolds and Fields really played well off of each other. It's a timeless classic movie.
I have never understood the appeal of IPA. To me it tastes like skunky weed smells, which is fine, but not exactly appealing. Its not what I call refreshing in any way, but again thats just my opinion. Obviously, some really like it given its popularity.I'm glad it's finally coming here because I think it's the best tasting cheap beer you can get. I like a good IPA and all but those get kind of expensive. I don't know how you beat Yuengling for $1 a can. It's way better than Busch or a Silver Bullet in my opinion.
