Wow...Could Irish call on Nick Saban?

Message boards in Alabama are saying ND officials are travelling to Tuscaloosa next week with a blank check. Alabama AD has already been contacted. Also reported on a radio program quoting the ever reliable "anonymous sources".
I don't mind Saban. He fields a tough, physical team, recruits well and his teams are always pretty solid on fundamentals.

Saban is a great coach and a great program builder. Importantly, he knows how to build a program in short order. Even more importantly, he knows how to "manage" the entire program...and make no mistake, you need to have a HC that understands how to manage a program at a place like ND because ND is not just about Xs & Os.
Saban's agent is Jimmy Sexton of Memphis. Mark my words, any job that is open or potentially open and can pay north of where Saban's currrent position pays is going to have Saban in the discussion because Sexton will see to it. Sexton is aggressive and he has made Saban a wealthy man (and himself wealthy) by making sure his name is out there on every search where a pay raise would be possible.
Lastly, I am Catholic as well. I tend to pull for ND when the are down and pull against them when they are good. Saban attended my church regularly while he lived in Baton Rouge. Like me, he and his family typically left immediately following communion. I still remember he and his wife Terry fighting over a recruiting trip as they walked to their car after church one Sunday...really kind of comical.

My only point earlier was Catholic doesn't necessarily equal ND fan. Are those of you who are Catholic and like Notre Dame pulling for ND because of the Catholic thing, or is it coincidence? Just curious.
Not all Catholics like Notre Dame, just like not all Catholics go to heaven.
I'm Catholic too and root for the Irish. But the only reason that I do like the Irish is because my older brother went to Notre Dame. I considered it when my time came for deciding a school, but I wanted to get my college education at Iowa State University. So, since I do have a "tie" to Notre Dame, which is more than most freaking Iowa fans could ever say about thier Sqawks, I root for the Fightin' Irish.
I would also like to mention, if ISU EVER played ND....which has major potential on Saturday evening in MBB.....I will be totally against the Irish. GO CYCLONES!!!

Sure was a great coaching job to give up a last second TD to Iowa in a bowl game. Might want to cover that guy.
Guilty as charged. I normally hate that show (primarily because I can't stand looking at Mitch Albom's ears...and I had to read Tuesdays with Morrie for a college class and it was awful) but I found that line to be pretty funny.
