What is the momcilovic situation?
Is there a new development or just discussing his NBA vs returning situation?

edit: I fully intend to listen so if you want to keep it a mystery that is ah-okay.
 
Brend said Milan is meeting with TJ today, probably to set a deadline between ISU and Milan for a decision on the NBA. Could lead to a transfer down the line since TJ needs to build his roster quickly but Milan might not have his NBA decision made now.

So with Milan other teams like Florida are willing to wait?

$ 4 million is a lot to tie up for Florida too. And he may not end up there. They would miss out on a lot of guys too

Struggling with the logic here.
Also believe 50% of spend will be by HY Vee but maybe this is just rumor. If true that certainly lessens the financial commitment

Also I would hope that a guy like Jeff Van Gundy can have input with Milan.

A guy who coached in the NBA certainly can provide preliminary opinions

I thought what Brent said was pretty positive for the Milan situation. It's makes perfect sense to ask for a timeline on his NBA decision as he's going to be a very significant part of our budget, and there may not be a lot of high profile replacement options left if he waits too long. I'm sure TJ wants him back more than anything, and will surely give Milan as much time as he can responsibly give him.

Hard to summarize 10 minutes of discussion into a quick post. No negative reporting or discussion by either, just laying out what the scenarios could be.

Probably be more info coming behind the paywall, but for the rest of us it's wait and see and hope for the best.

Just for the record—because I'm seeing a lot of garbage from burners—Blum pointed out that this is a timing issue more than anything. If Otz tells Momcilovic they can only wait around another few days, but Mom wants to keep going through the draft process, then he would have to enter the portal in case he learns in May or something that he won't be drafted as high as he maybe could have, so he could get paid by some school. This isn't Momcilovic telling his agent to get a feel for the market. Teams would be making him offers even if he hadn't declared for the NBA

Most likely teams are already making offers to Milan’s agent. Portal or no portal, he’ll have back pocket deals waiting if/when he drops out of the draft.

He couldn’t accept any deal if he wasn’t able to transfer to that school

Will he though? By the time he decides those teams with offers may fill up. They are in same situation as ISU.

I guess he could end up like a haggerty and end up in a bad situation like KSU. He committed to them end of May last year
 
I have yo imagine Milan’s agent would have a decent idea of where he could land, right?

Hard to say, if he goes through NBA evaluation you are looking at mid May college vs NBA decision at the earliest.

If ISU cannot wait, neither can other good programs.

Haggerty ended up at KSU last year cuz they were a bad program that had to fill a lot of roster space

I think he committed like May 25th cuz he entered draft evaluation and pulled himself out.

K-State did not help his draft status this year at all

Not sure where I saw it, but whoever it was said that the NBA has excellent scouting on everyone already and he should be able to get some pretty rapid feedback from multiple sources to see how much interest there is and where he might land.
