Tony Petitti says his number one goal for the Big 10 is more money.
You mean doing his job? The rights to one of those games are Michigans, this is literally his job

That’s highly dependent on your echo chamberJust reading the media, I would say Big 10 and SEC are losing the PR battle.
Talking national media and respected sports sites. Don’t know what echo chamber you use. Dont you agree??it’s so obvious. That’s highly dependent on your echo chamber
Unless the ratings drop it legit doesn’t matter what the talking heads who are only interested in clicks and views thinkTalking national media and respected sports sites. Don’t know what echo chamber you use. Dont you agree??it’s so much obvious.
Nebraska and UCLA were linch pens of their former conferences, now they are just another voice in the choir. Missouri had a thriving rivalry with Kansas, and a decent one with ISU, who is their rival schools now?I’d say those three schools are exactly the same as they were before.
Yeah the Big Ten is better off, the athletes can be compensated, they can transfer when they want, they travel in style and get a ton of perks.
Yep it’s pretty much better
Couple things:Nebraska and UCLA were linch pens of their former conferences, now they are just another voice in the choir. Missouri had a thriving rivalry with Kansas, and a decent one with ISU, who is their rival schools now?
Stop thinking about the athletes as they would be doing just as well under the current system if schools had not switched conferences, that is being pushed by NIL and unlimited transfers, not the conference your school is in, just look at TT and BYU. Indiana did not start winning until they hired their current coach and NIL money starting rolling in, being a member of the B10 did not help them before those two things occurred.
We all know this is not going to pass congress because the B10/SEC will lose their advantage in money over the other leagues. Even out the media money and a lot of schools in those two leagues are really not much better off than teams from the ACC and B12.
And yet the Big 10 gave UCLA a full share.Couple things:
First UCLA hasn’t been important in anything for decades, they aren’t a lynch pin in anything except how far a basketball blue blood can fall and since the big ten had Indiana we have a matching set now. Also this board constantly talks about how Nebraska was on a major decline when the left and that it was part of the decision so which one is it? I have no idea about Missouri as I don’t know anyone who thinks about them.
You realize a big reason why NIL got pushed through is because the conferences were making so much money. If your trying to go back to before then a lot of that might not happen
Your Indiana point proves mine, before all this started and we got t the current iteration Indiana couldn’t have happened, thus they are better off. Unfortunately most of the P2 are while the other half of the P4 aren’t except for some outliers that have risen up in the new environment
Yep because the media companies are willing to pay it. They are pretty irrelevant compared to Oregon in most ways but they have a big old market and got the not with USCAnd yet the Big 10 gave UCLA a full share.
UCLA had back to back 10 win season in 2013 and 2014, won eight games in 2021, nine games in 2022 and 8 again in 2023, not the bottom dwelling like you are saying. No way Indiana turns it around without their current coach and NIL, if both were in place a decade ago, they would have won then. Most of the money from the media deals are going to stadium upgrades and ever rising salaries of coaches. Not in the ability to pay players, that money is coming from outsides sources.Couple things:

It would make more, but single seller leverage has its limits. And scheduling can’t be on 7x10But an oil billionaire who owns the school that the big 12 runs through told me it would make everyone so much money!?! Is the billionaire wrong? How can that be!
Yep and just like with Indiana being in the P2 with those resources allows you to sky rocket if you get the right coach in place. Even more so if the schedule gods favor yaUCLA had back to back 10 win season in 2013 and 2014, won eight games in 2021, nine games in 2022 and 8 again in 2023, not the bottom dwelling like you are saying. Being a member of the B10 is not pushing Indiana football, it's their coach and NIL, otherwise school like Purdue, Maryland, NW and others would also be doing it. Hell it was not that long ago that NW was playing for conference championships, before NIL and mass transfers. It all comes down to coaching and having enough money to buy players. No one believes the guy at TT is some great coach, but when you have money to bring in players, average coaching with great players takes you a long way.
Then explain a school like Miami, that is not in the P2 and played for the championship this past year. The only advantages the P2 schools have is the extra money from their media deals and that multiple schools from the same conference can get into the playoff. A school like BYU makes the playoff it they were in the B10 or SEC last season, but not from the B12, and their schedule last year was just as difficult if not more so then Indiana's was two years ago when they made it the first time. Penn State schedule this year is a joke, if they do not make the playoff, it would be a major disappointment.Yep and just like with Indiana being in the P2 with those resources allows you to sky rocket if you get the right coach in place.
