Will the BIG10 Reverse Their Decision?

I just don’t see how those that are opposed to playing now are going to feel any differently come Jan or Feb. We have 189,000 dead after 6 months and the best model predicts 410,000 total dead by Jan 1 with huge numbers ramping up in late October or late November and increasing into the new year.

Not saying what I think, but if one thinks it’s too dangerous now, they won’t be playing ball in the spring.

So it we were warned over and over it wouldn't die down during the summer like the flu, it didn't. No one was really expecting it, hoping, but not expecting. So now it is credible to say it will significantly ramp up during the flu season?

For all we know it may have 'died down' in the summer as in it didn't get as bad compared to if more people were inside these last 3 months.

Considering the science that indoors is higher risk, you'd think a spike is in the near future.

We'll find out.

True, my theory on why the warm states became hot spots is because the heat is bad enough that everyone spent most their time inside in the air conditioning. That risk flips back to northern states as it cools. I think enough people have been exposed that a widespread spike is not as likely except in places that have still managed low cases. Rural and isolated states. It is really amazing how many counties in NY have not really had many cases.

Conference members may be hearing new medical updates over the weekend, with the possibility of a vote on Sunday regarding whether or not to start play in October. Need 9 to move forward with fall football. Currently sits at 7-7, but rapid antigen testing could sway a couple of votes.

For as bad as people think Iowa is right now, there are 6 B1G states with a worse Rt right now.

doesn't everyone know that the election virus will disappear on Nov. 4? It will be too late to start football by then though.

Yup. It's a beautiful thing. 7.5 weeks and it'll all be over! Here's to hoping the B1ech continues to infight and self destruct. :D

I haven't read the entire thread so I don't know what all was discussed. A member of the Iowa athletic department was at the local car dealership this week when I was there. He and the owner were talking about the Big starting games after Thanksgiving in domes. We will see.

Hearing Iowa is all in for the modified six game division schedule followed by the BIG championship game. Playing...

- Nebraska
- Minnesota
- Wisconsin
- Northwestern
- Illinois
- Indiana

Woo-eee...now that is exciting. Three home games...three away.
