Will Breece be traded?

I love the concerned responses to this kind of stuff. One, no one has any context for what is happening here. Is it his go kart? Did a teammate bring it in? Is it one they have at the facility specifically for the players to goof off with a little bit?

Second, the idea that if the team isn't doing well these guys aren't allowed to do anything that might be perceived as light hearted or fun because it is evidence they don't care and aren't taking their job seriously. There is a 10 second clip of him driving a go-kart around so clearly all he did all day is screw off. Never mind the fact that Breece probably works harder at his profession than 99% of the people who criticize him.

And the hell of rehab he went through.

I do watch a lot of NFL. Your run game sucks and Pacheco is not even close to Hall in player quality or stats. If you're making yet another run at the Super Bowl, Hall would absolutely help you get there. Hall is also an outstanding throwing target, it doesn't just have to be rushes.

If you don't want to be the ones to pay him, sure. I can understand that. Implying that he's a worse player than Pacheco or Hunt is non-ball-knower insanity. Now, Reid not knowing how to use a rush game in KC... You got me there. Maybe he'd learn with a top tier RB. As a Vikings fan, I get it with my coach and RBs.
They have identical numbers almost. Breece Hall is not a top tier RB. People wouldn't be offering 4th round picks for him if he was. He's a decent back. Not a pro bowler or all-Pro by any stretch. This board must know something every GM in the league doesn't.

What would Pacheco or Hunt bring back in the trade market? No one would even offer a 4th round pick. The problem with Hull was not the talent, but that he is going to be a free agent at the end of the season. At his age, he will be one of highest paid RB in the league next season

I want what Breece WANTS.
Reminds me a tad of David in Chicago (my team).
David was an unhappy Bear.
Suspect, Breece is an unhappy Jet.
Both were ISU game chargers x 10.
We were blessed to have both.

In what world do they have identical numbers? Breece is a full yard p.c. better this year and many, many yards better in passing. With higher usage. On a significantly shittier team in which he is basically the only threat for a defense to account for. Pacheco doesn't have a single game this season over 60 rush yards, Hall has 3 different 100+ games already. They aren't even close to the same, that's just an awful take.

Imagine what Hall could do playing for a real team, and still at a fairly-ripe age of 24. He'll command a great price this off-season assuming the Jets don't tag him (which I assume they will, since they didn't let him go... unfortunately).

He's only made $4.3 million so far on his rookie deal.

The RB tag would be like what $15 million per year or something?

Maybe they hope Breece's prime and their window to compete will have a few seasons of overlap. They have a lot of draft capital now. If they bring in a lot of talent and can "hit" on a quarterback they could turn it around quickly. Retaining one of the best RBs in the league could help with that process.

He's gotta start making his money soon. He's already had one major knee injury.

Lotta talented RBs are going to be on the open market.

  • Derrick Henry
  • James Cook
  • Breece Hall
  • Kenneth Walker
  • Kyren Williams
  • Najee Harris
  • Isiah Pacheco
  • Travis Etienne
  • Rachaad White
  • Brian Robinson Jr.
  • Austin Ekeler
  • Javonte Williams
  • Miles Sanders
  • Jaylen Warren
  • Rico Dowdle
  • Tyler Allgeier
  • Jerome Ford
  • Khalil Herbert
  • Zack Moss
  • Dameon Pierce

The average pay for a RB is 15 mil? That seems really high.

That's not how they calculate a franchise tag. They would be screwing players over big time if they did.
I was just going off memory from the Brock situation but I'm sure I'm just mistaken.

After a quick search here's what I got.

average of the top five salaries at that position or 120% of their previous salary

15 mil still seems way high but looking at the salaries I guess it wouldn't be if it was the average. 120% of his salary would be much lower.

I would guess that it is the higher of the 2. That 120% is probably in there if the player is already the highest paid player at that position, otherwise they could get franchised at reduced pay. Can't see the players agreeing to that.

Is Barkley still worth 20 a year? I know that's what he's paid but I mean is he producing that well?

Probably not much more than Breece Hall which is my entire ******* point.

That's awesome. Outside of Philly with Barkley last year show me Super Bowl champions that have had top tier running backs over the last 10 years. You act like this is 1995 or something.

Saquons final year in NY he averaged 3.9 YPC. He first year in Philly he averaged 5.8 YPC. Amazing what happens to good RB's when they leave crappy teams.

They don't need him. Not sure you know that Brett Veach doesn't. They have hit absolute home runs with draft picks in rounds 1-3 under him and they are going to have to let some guys walk this year assuming they will ask for more money. They need the picks. They offered a 4th which is probably about right and the Jets weren't interested Breece should go to the Steelers or something. It would be a perfect place. Good franchise who still plays old school football and he'll go to the playoffs most of the time. KC isn't the place for him. It would benefit him or KC. Maybe San Francisco could pick him up. Then you could make an all Iowa State team in the NFL. I'm much more focused on balancing talent with needs while thinking about the current and future cap situation.

Nice little dust up in here. What are we even arguing about? I want in
The homers on this board are smarter than the GM who has 3 rings and 6 straight AFC title game appearances. And no GM in this league is offering the Jets higher than 4 for Breece Hall and they suck tooi I guess. I'm of the opinion that when KC decides they want to run the ball they don't have much of a problem doing it. I feel like they need draft picks considering who's going to walk this year so they have no reason to offer higher than a 4 for Breece Hall. He needs to go to the Steelers. They pay for RB's and defensive players. Its a perfect situation for him. In 2025 I think you pay for QBs, Tackles, and dominant defensive lineman. You draft well and then you can pay good players low money because they are on their rookie contracts and then you let them walk and do it again.
