why NDSU will beat ISU.

This is all dumb. I am surprised to hear that there is such a thing as an arrogant NDSU fan. I am equally surprised in the confidence of ISU fans. ISU by 7.

true that.

from what Im hearing at practice, we are going to be throwing 5 running backs at you. all shifty guys, all can catch a pass.

2 true freshman perhaps (which is scary!)

however, We have a 6'8' NFL prospect TE that Nick Mertens can trust and throw the jump ball too.

NDSU is smash mouth, and always have been. but I got a feeling we might surprise ISU and even our fanbase with throwing out these 5 rb's.

I've never heard of a 5 running back offense. I'm intrigued.

Let's be realistic here. NDSU just doesnt have the athletes right now to beat ISU. Im not saying ISU has "stud" athletes but there is a difference between NDSU and ISU athletes. NDSU will not only get beat by ISU, but they will not beat SDSU or UNI. My prediction is 4th or 5th in the conference. If you dont think SDSU will beat NDSU this year, then why did SDSU beat NDSU last season in the Fargo Dome (A place where SDSU hasnt won in a long time). NDSU had much much much better football players last year and those guys are gone so automatically you think your going to be better than last year? NDSU just doesnt reload each and every year. I know you Fargo fanatics think your the second coming of USC, Florida or whatever big time school ,but you just dont have the quality of athletes to reload. You guys have way to many question marks coming into this season to be overconfident in thinking you will beat ISU and then win the Missouri Valley.

GO CYCLONES! And on October 17 - GO JACKS!

It's a little known loophole in the rules, but completely legal. Three of them climb on another guy's shoulders so that you still end up with 11 pairs of cleats on the ground. :jimlad:

This will be a good opening opponent, even though a Big 12 team should never schedule such a game.

ISU 31 Bison 21

lakesbison is a turd throwing internet tough guy. He is either just trying to get everyones goat by continuing to spew outrageous predictions, or is a delusional fan who will believe that DDSU (Directional Dakota State University) won even if they lose by 30. I am starting to believe he is just a jerk trying to get us riled up. If I remember correctly most of his early predicitons were that DDSU could win if everything went right. Now he is stating that their O-Line will dominate and lead to victory with their awesome 5 headed running back attack. The outbursts are getting worse because he gets a reaction out of people every time he spouts off. When presented with rational arguments he just says that he has a feeling they might surprise ISU.
My vote is that we just ignore future turd grenades thrown and any thread started by lakesbison in hopes that he shuffles off into obscurity. We can then continue to rationally discuss the game with some of the less sensationalist Bison fans.

Have you seen some of the non-conference schedules in the rest of the conference? Scheduling a team like NDS is pretty typical. Every BCS conference operates this way.

NDSU will bring OLD TIME TOUGH GUY football and dominate the trenches, and that's why I think NDSU will win.

I know I know, you guys will trash this thread trying to belittle NDSU, but I know if these guys perform and our QB and RB's explode, NDSU will win.

12 days!!

I know that people should practice free speech, but I think this crosses the line from practicing, to overusing and annoying :chatterbox:. Anyone else?

Our two BEST(only) road wins last year were against

Missouri State ranked 196 sagarin
Illinois State ranked 199 sagarin

We know how to go on the road and whip tough opponents, especially when they have state in the name.

(However we did lose on the road to Youngstown State ranked 198 so you know about where we stand as road warriors when we play teams that take us seriously)

He said should, not that everybody does it. I agree with him. We should never schedule these games.

Your little ones will get crushed in week one NDSU. Have fun at a real tailgate.......and please exit the state immediatly when you lose.....safely of course.

C'mon guys; there's a big difference between being a jerk and having some fun supporting your team. Preface: I don't know lakesbison.

Having said that, I used to travel North Dakota for work. Iowans are reknowned for "being nice and friendly" but IMO, North Dakotans take it to a whole new level and they like to have their fun. I wanted and needed to do some work in my hotel room in the evenings; I never got it done because my business associates would insist I come over for burgers & beers (we were strangers that morning)! I once got stuck in the Bismarck airport (gotta love Northworst Airlines) and the desk agent was insistent that I could sleep on her couch; it wasn't necessary as the flight got out late but she meant it. If you don't have a feeling for North Dakota, you won't get what I'm saying...

pretty impressive road wins there. were your players intimidated by all 10,000 people in the stands?

my prediction. bison fans and players and coaches poop themselves when they walk into a real stadium with real fans and real football atmosphere. Have they ever played in anything close to this environment...and once again Minnesota definitely doesn't count unless Iowa is playing there.

NDSU will put up a decent fight. It will be a closer than due to new coaching, new system, and a bigger opponent for NDSU. It isn't every day you get to play a bigger D1 school. I want to say ISU will win by a fair margin, but you just don't know. I don't know. I'll wait and see. I'm getting tired of all the hot air being wasted on this board. It is honest fun and friendly rivalries but sometimes it gets to be a lot of :chatterbox:. The game will be all the talk that is needed.

What I don't get is that there are all these threads about NDSU possibly beating ISU. What about UNI possibly beating Iowa? UNI is a much much better team than NDSU. Iowa has a few offensive linemen missing and running back Jewel Hampton out. The Iowa/UNI final score will be closer than the ISU/NDSU score.

Are these the same "OLD TIME TOUGH GUY" football players that dominated the trenches last year rushing for:

99 yards on 31 carries against UNI
98 yards on 26 carries against Wyoming
119 yards on 28 carries against South Dakota State.

The majority of the rushing yards last year came against Cent. Conn. St (330 yards rushing) and Illinois State (413 yards rushing). These two teams are worthless.

Your right, your O-line does dominate:biglaugh:

That kind of size for a FCS (Div. 1AA) team is extremely impressive. I will say that. I just hope we win; even if it's just by a point. Go Cyclones!!!

North Dakotans are great people,

the exception that proves the rule is the small small small time sports boosters who insist that outsiders take their program seriously, much like people who live and die with AA minor league baseball and insist it is as important as major leagues and demand that you take it as seriously as they do.

Nothing wrong with being entertained, just quit being offended when nobody outside your small circle cares.
