Breaking down Iowa’s lack of offense…

Last year I thought Goodson was a little underrated, sure he’s not Breece but he was very solid. I think he made an NFL roster if I’m not mistaken and it was incredibly obvious they missed his playmaking ability yesterday as I watched their first half. The QB is just not a major conference level starter and I have no idea why they insist on trying to make him one.

I don’t get how the punter wasn’t an all American last year and he looked just as good, they love punting from the 50 because they know they’ll usually down it inside the 10. They happily punt from the 36 because they know their own player will catch the ball inside the 5. Need to try something on their punts, he punted 500 yards of all A+ punts yesterday and did same to us last year. He’s their best and most valuable player in most of their games the past two seasons.

Its not like they had a good offense last year.

Their offense is punting and interceptions combined w fg kicking and it beat us last year. 500 yards of field position on punts yesterday and in our game last year.

Goodson is on the packers practice squad.

This must have been a miserable game to watch

I followed first half and from what I can tell SDSU is exact same kind of team as Iowa just with FCS depth. Like in our game last year, punting won it for Iowa because while their D was good SDSU’s D was doing just as well if not for having worse field position.

Petras couldn't make easy throws against SD State. I mean easy, scripted passes that were not thrown under pressure like a quick little flare pass to his running back. Watching the highlights I kept thinking, "Is this they guy local media has been touting as having a break-out year this season?".

Will he improve that much by next Saturday? Logic says no, but I am shopping online for new one of these just in case:

Smack talk about Iowa’s (lack of) offense aside, Tory Taylor is incredible and I respect anyone that perfects their craft the way he has. Honestly a super valuable weapon
