I think this thread is really indicative of how apathetic we all are towards Cyclones football and openly discuss what other teams we care about.

With that said, I have multiple close relatives who've attended K-State and Oklahoma State so I tend to root for them. I do root for Big 12 teams though in all non-conference matchups. For each conference, the team(s) I tend to root for are:

Pac-12:
Arizona State and Utah

Big Ten:
Michigan State and Purdue

SEC:
Georgia and Missouri

ACC:
Clemson and Georgia Tech

Big 12: West Virginia, TCU, Texas Tech, Kansas (FOOTBALL ONLY!). I cheer for Kansas (FOOTBALL!) and West Virginia regardless, unless they playing Iowa State. TCU unless they playing ISU, WVU, or Tech. Tech unless they playing ISU, WVU, or KU (FOOTBALL!). Depending on how the season goes, I change it up. I'm gonna get banned for this, but a very small part of me wanted TCU to win last week, in order to keep the Big XII in the playoff hunt (I'd rather have no Big XII representative than have Baylor in the playoff).

Big Ten: Northwestern. The Iowa State of the Big Ten. Uncle also grew up a fan. Other than them, **** the entire conference.

SEC: Missouri. Big 8 school.

Pac-12: Arizona State, Colorado, Washington State. Huge Arizona Cardinals fan, so I go for the Sun Devils due Jake Plummer, Pat Tillman, Cardinals use to play at Sun Devil stadium, also a couple of my friends went to school there. Iowa State winning two bowl games there also helps. Colorado a Big 8 school. Washington State as I am also a huge Mike Leach fan.

ACC: Viriginia Tech and Georgia Tech.

MAC: I like the entire conference, but if I had to pick, Northern Illinois.

Sun Belt: Everyone. Maybe Appalachian State?

AAC: Cincinnati.

Mountain West: Utah State (Chuckie Keaton), Colorado State (Eustachy).

C-USA: UTEP (Tim Floyd), and Rice.


Outside of the Big XII and Arizona State, I mostly follow "Group of 5" football during football season.

The Gophers, my dad grew up in minny and is a lifetime Gophers fan. Also the reason why I'm a Vikings, Twins, and T-Wolves fan, so thanks a lot Dad.
