Finished Morning Star last night. That was an emotional roller coaster book. What a tremendous trilogy

Looks like the Stormlight TV series will have 10 episodes for the first season. The size and scope of those books is gargantuan so it will be interesting to see how Sanderson can honor his original work. He's the main writer for the show which is not common in book adaptations. Ask the magic and armor will require a ton of CGI so I wonder how much they're going to cut back on that? Gonna be really weird to have faces for these characters I feel like are family at this point.
The end of chapter 4 of Book 5 (The siege of Gondor) gives me chills. Every. Single. Time.
For anyone who's struggled with getting into Lord of the Rings, I've suggested starting at At the Sign of the Prancing Pony and reading from there - and then once you're invested, going back to the beginning to catch what you missed. The pacing of the first few chapters (with the exception of possibly The Shadow of the Past) can be a little slow if you're not already into it.

I struggled with that part when I first read it as a kid. That, and the fact that Bilbo wasn't going to be the feature character having come from The Hobbit first. Who is this Frodo dude and why am I reading about him instead?
Unless the show spends an astronomical amount on CGI they are going to have to scale back a LOT.
Honestly I think it would be best served as an animated series. I’m not sure it’s doable in live action that costs less than 100 million a season.
Agree on the animated part, however for the first book you won’t need much CGI until the chasm fiends besides Syl. They could get creative with that one too but will be interesting to see how they handle the pacing and what they cut or bring forward from later books
