whatever happened with scott haughton?

Could it be one of those things where he is kicked off the team to focus on his grades, meaning he cannot be apart of the team and not use any of the athletic facilities. But when he gets his grades in order, will be invited back on.

Nope. Like his grades were hilariously bad, he was already on thin ice as it was, so they cut ties.

I heard he could land at a school in SC.

but why dismiss him from the team as opposed to making him academically ineligible? hayworth hicks was academically ineligible last season and he was never dismissed.

He was already on his second chance.

Sometimes in this history class, he would show up for a minute right before class started and then leave. It was really bizarre. Kinda sums it up I guess...

He was on like his third chance about his grades. He also would only show up for class at the beginning to get counted in the class. Athletics got wind of that after his grades started to slip and actually started checking all athletes to see if they were skipping out of class after they were seen to be in there at the beginning.

I've had it confirmed as HORRIBLE grades, as well. Always puzzles me how some of these players with the world at their fingertips can't just show up for class...

For all the effort they put in the weightroom, you would think they could apply this to the classroom. Strange and a waste.

I remember the same thing happening when I was at school. (00-04) The player would show up with a tutor of some sort and then leave 5 minutes into the class. The tutor would stay and finish notes. Friend of mine was a tutor at Iowa for the linemen around the same time. He claimed that absolutely every possible thing that can be done to make passing easy is used. Almost everything is done for them. (no suprise there) They just had to put in a small effort to get a little prepared for tests and then spit out what was told to them. Sounds like if you get bad grades even after that then the effort must be 0%. If true, then personally it is hard for me to stand behind someone who is given so much support and cannot give that much effort in gratitude to his school, coaches, family, and fans.

Rumor I heard was 0.67

That's Blutarsky worthy...

Haughton's loss is going to hurt badly. Whenever I start to get a little excited about the 2010 season it' includes thinking of Haughton playing on the line. What a killer for this football team - he was going to be really good.

Yeah I heard it was below a 1.0. If that is the case you don't deserve a full ride. If you have below a 1.0 you aren't stupid, you're just lazy.
