Anyone who says Chipotle has never had Pancheros

I once agreed with that until they changed their tomatillo sauce. So disappointed in them for ruining a good thing.

Los Laureles in Des Moines has a great steak burrito. Just a short drive down Grand if you work downtown, haven't had one in along time but when I used to work downtown probably ate there once or twice a month.

Did you every have the "Beast"? How big is it?

Yes I did have the beast. That was for Sunday morning after drinking all day and watching college football! It had to be a solid 12" long and 2-3" diameter. You had to commit to finish it lol

Fernando's over by Drake is really good. They had a special during relays few years ago called Porterhouse, named after their then live dog mascot, with chile rellenos and jalapeno poppers inside a burrito (along with normal burrito fillings), maybe fried even?

They opened up a location in the Local Bites food court downtown. Really solid burritos.

Last few times I’ve ate at Pancheros (I only eat there maybe once a year), has been a giant disappointment. Ill get talked into going because I love burritos and Mexican food in general, but I always come away disappointed and the burritos no matter what I do to them, are always bland. I think people think it’s a great place because they make fresh tortillas right in front of you. I’ve only had Chipotle once in my life and thought it was better than Pancheros but still pretty meh.
