What excuse will EIU come up with?

Wow. So now it isn't just the refs ripping you off, you played bad too??? You do realize that you weren't playing the Eldora girls reformitory tonight right? You aren't going to look as good against a team with a pulse as opposed to the tomato cans fran had to schedule.

That was better than Xavier tonight from your team. I didn't see the Villanova game so I can't comment in that. Those are the THREE teams you have played this year that can fight back.

you aren't very good at this.

I don't disagree. I just laugh at the posts that think Iowa played their best game and ISU played like crap. It just isn't true.

Jesus, the sad part is you are like the rest of the misfits from hawk world.

You are trying to make it sound like Iowa played bad. They didn't. You can argue that they were better last night than any other time this year.

Choking, or just not good enough to get the job done when it counts? So far this year, one team has proved they have the milk to put the baby to bed, the other kind of ***** the bed when the baby is crying.

This quote covered above

Eldora's only for boys, Mike.

On behalf of the cyclonefanatic posters who aren't overly emotional over this good win...I apologize for these posters who seem to be having trouble with genders tonight. Please give them a wide berth, there's not many women in ag and engineering.

No, you can't. Again. White played probably the best game of his career. So did Niang. That is a wash. Marble played pretty standard for the amount of minutes he played. Didn't shoot well. Ejim scored 1 shy of his career best. Another wash. Uthoff scored some, but hurt Iowa on defense. Gesell played pretty standard for the amount of minutes he played. Everyone else on Iowa played like crap or not at all.

The only person that could argue with a straight face that tonight was Iowa's best team effort is a clone fan that convinced themselves that Iowa sucks, and has only watched them once.

Bottom line, Iowa struggles to win away from Carver against good schools. I think they get over the this year but to dance they need to win true road games against good schools.

They'll have chances this year, can they do it?

Then where did Iowa play better than they did tonight?

Reading is FUNdamental.

they played better against ND and UTEP. They played more as a team against Drake and Villanova.

Iowa played good. But only one guy played his best.

This was a big test, and they failed. Hopefully they will learn from it and be better down the stretch at the likes of Wisky and OSU. I will let you know if they can do it in a couple months.

SIAP -- I was curious to see what JMiller had to say. Here is an excerpt from his post-game analysis:
Iowa didn’t score a field goal in the final 2:04 and went 1-6 from the foul line down the stretch. There were several plays that weren’t made and shots that didn’t go down. From an Iowa perspective, it was unfortunate because I believe they are the better basketball team. However on this night, they didn’t have enough in the tank to overcome Iowa State, who is also a good ball team… Look, I hate talking or writing about officiating, but I am not going to sit here and pretend things were great when they weren’t; the refs struggled to keep up with the pace of this basketball game… It’s the first time Iowa was outshot from the free throw line all season long, as Iowa is one of the best teams at getting to the foul line… Iowa had 49-35 rebounding advantage and just 11 turnovers. Iowa State made just six three-pointers on the night, four below their per game average… This is a good Iowa team, but just how good remains to be seen. Iowa still isn’t winning the close ones… Iowa is going to need to win some of these close games this year if the program is going to take that next step and not just be a bubble team happy to get into the NCAA tournament.
Hmm... ISU went to the NCAA tourney the last 2 years & its non-conference performance was not that impressive, but this year we have beaten solid teams & won the close games, YET Jon still thinks that this Iowa team is better? Iowa has a good team, but better than the Cyclones? Heck, he actually contradicts himself by adding this gem: IOWA STILL ISN'T WINNING THE CLOSE ONES. Here's a flash for that Hok Logic, Iowa State is winning the close ones - and they haven't all been in Hilton! That is the difference between our two teams so far. In fact, that is the difference between this year's Clone team and the Clones of the past two seasons - and we all know how ISU's season turned out the last two years. Oh, and the foul discrepancy might have something to do with us driving past Hok players and they were often too slow to react - perhaps that is a result of coaching, instead of officiating.

It is ok to give Iowa some credit, they are a good team with some nice players. I thought there length gave us trouble and they really wanted to run us in the ground. I think Iowa's depth is overrated they need to leave Marble and White on the whole game, Fran's substituting is biting them in the ***. Two good solid NCAA tournament teams fighting it out. Best W of the season for us (so far).
