What excuse will EIU come up with?

I can't come up with an excuse. I thought it was a great game by two pretty good teams. I was actually pretty pleased with how the Hawks handled adversity tonight. I am a little down about the last 30 seconds and stepping up and hitting their free throws but you have to hand it to the Clones for taking control when either team could have won. Disappointed in McCabe and Basabe but all in all it was a great effort by two good teams.

I loved to see the how the two teams matched up with each other. Two good coaches and a very tough venue for an opponent to win. There may be something to Hilton Magic.

Congrats Clone fans on the win. You have a fun team to watch.

Not trying to troll here, and I am sure I will get reamed, so I'm just gonna hang up and listen. But IMO Iowa wins on a neutral court by 8-10 points. Iowa State is pretty good, but if it weren't for the horrendous officiating in the first 20 minutes, this one might have been over at halftime. Gotta give credit where it is due though, definitely a much more "clutch" team than Iowa.

Good night.

You knew the 'We are the better team, you just got lucky' card was coming out.

That is the problem with sports, these dang things called games get in the way.

ISU fans telling other to not complain about the refs is kindda funny really. All I know is if Iowa gets 15 more FT attempts, ISU fan is pizzed has heck.

That said, Iowa lost the game cause they chocked, plain and simple. They had it their for the taking and they didn't take it.

Not an excuse by them, but on Twitter, they're so butthurt that they're bringing up bowl games, the overall record of the series, etc like it actually matters to this year's basketball season.

Iowa fans should be confident - they have a really good team, but bringing up those types of things above just makes them look like sore losers and douchebags with no confidence.
So you are saying they are acting like typical tavern hawks. Not to be confused with actual Iowa grads.

Ok you're like the third person who's spelled it like this tonight. It's CHOKED. They CHOKED.

Just heard an Iowa fan "we are still the better team".
I don't know if you can definitively choose the "better" team after one game in December on a non-neutral court. I think we can beat any team in Hilton on any given night, but that doesn't necessarily mean we're the better team.

This game was a lot like the woman's game last night in terms of fouls. Iowa had a lot of calls on them, but when you are wildly swinging at every shot, bodying the guy drive to the basket and contest every rebound you are going to get a lot of fouls. Lucky they didn't get called for more. ISU didn't get a shot off inside the 3 point arch where someone from Iowa was not bumping of smacking them.

The disparity in calls was to be expected. It was @ Hilton. If the game was @ Carver it'd probably be reversed.

My beef is the WAY games are being called this year. It's gonna encourage guys to go straight to the hoop, regardless if it'd be better to kick out, and count on being bailed out by the refs. Games are becoming foul fests.

It worked in the Clones favor this game and has helped the Hawks in a few games as well. Go on the road and it's a different story. Expect to have Niang/Ejim/Kane foul out in some critical games in the B12 because of this crap.

Would like them to go back to letting the kids play.

Gutty win for the clones

Good night.

No real sympathy here. We missed 12 free throws in this game today, so not exactly an excuse for you guys. Don't even bring up refs. I never heard the end of it from Iowa fans after the KU, Ohio State, and Texas football games, which were much worse then this was. So, I'll give you the answer I got from all the Iowa fans. Get over it.

Hoiball 3-1 against Iowa.
Hoiball= 2 NCAA wins.
Madfranball= ZERO NCAA games

Now go get your $%#@&* shine box.

My friend is telling me, quote for quote: "You can say what you want but I think it was pretty clear Iowa is better coached and a better team, it will be interesting to see how March turns out. ISU doesn't play real basketball and it is gonna bite them in the *** come March." I then told him to explain his reasoning. He said "One on one three pointers is all it is, and I don't know how you can say he is a better coach than Fran, he had the right players in the right situation, they didn't finish."

I didn't think they could get any dumber

Ha. Yes. I can't wait for my coworker's excuse. Last night was hilarious when I told him we're playing tomorrow. He told me "Yeah, good luck with that one. We're really good and ranked." I said "I don't know how to tell you this, but we're ranked too, undefeated, and ranked higher than you." He hasn't a clue, but half the time he has really lame excuses when ISU wins something and the other times he just accepts it.

I love when fans who don't know the game try and act like they know something. One on One three pointers? Yep, is that why ISU scored 79% of it points NOT on three pointers? I think it's offensive to basketball that idiots are allowed to discuss the game and still get things wrong.
