#1) SwirlyBird is an idiot.
#2) Prohm shouldn't sit one of our best players if he cannot comment on the situation. This guy is in way over his head.
#3) Leath needs to get involved soon... (if we want to see any kind of success in March.)
#4) Much needed W for Big 12 conference seedings.

1) Guess I will take your word since you seem to be an expert in the idiot department
2) Ignorant post
3) Ignorant post
4) Smartest thing you said in the post, but the bar was set pretty low

Would like some kind of explanation to prevent rampant rumors spreading. That's my problem with how it's handled. Can't just say "Coaches Decision" and expect it to go away, because it won't. Give a real reason.

Posters are right on here, that it's his choice with how he handles the media, he doesn't have to give any explanation, but don't get mad when the questions keep coming (he seemed agitated in the presser today), because they will.

That's my 2 cents.

Exactly. What if it is something stupid and he doesn't want to embarrass the player? The only people attacking this are the ones that have a chip on their shoulder towards Prohm in the first place, hence the religion posts we've had to delete tonight.

I don't know enough about Prohm yet to say anything either way. I'm just not convinced having him back and forth eligible without giving any detail is wise. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. It's not like there's some specific way this is done or not done.

It is definitely possible for a coach to be too strict or not strict enough to the detriment of the team. Nobody can comment on it wisely either way because none of us know.

Totally support Prohm in this deal. Hopefully he is back. If not, only McCay's choice.

How can you totally support Prohm on this when we've no idea what's even going on (knee acting up or disciplinary)?

Bottom line with McKay and the rest of the team: Prohm doesn't know how to get the best out of these guys. They don't consistently play hard for him. They did for Freddie. Texas is like a different team effort wise with Shaka.

The whole "head coach experience" part of the hiring process was total BS. Prohm's head coaching experience was limited and he inherited a great roster at Murray St. The guy's in way over his head.

Funny how he's always turning to TJ on the bench during critical parts of games. Guess TJ has HC abilities after all...

Prohm don't give a **** about rumors. That's us.

2&3 is up there with the dumbest comments made on this site, especially 3

i guess but changing the question structure and and think you will get an answer does not make a lot of sense.
If dude did not answer it the first 3 times asked don't think he will answer when asked 4th, or 5th time.
Move on

For those of you with all the angst for Prohm, why have you turned on him so quickly? He is playing the cards he was dealt. Is this team really so different than last year at this time? Some things have gone really well, for example we are playing great offense. This particular personnel group will never be great defenders starting with Georges, but that's not what they are. Jameel's issues haven't helped at all, but we had a similar distraction with BDJ last year, a player who was obviously very talented and could have helped us much more than he did. The sky is not falling.

Rampant rumors will happen with almost anything he could have said. I'm guessing it wasn't too awful as Jameel was on the bench still. Might have been something relatively minor but enough that Coach felt he had to respond. I'm sure he's on a short leash.

Don't group me with that. I'm simply in the camp that we don't know Prohm that well and none of us know what happened or is continuing to happen. All we know is that in the loss before the suspension Jameel had horrible body language down the stretch. Nobody knows more than that really.

I don't get the people who automatically think Prohm is being brilliant here when there's no information to assess. To have 2 game suspension, back, then a one game suspension...I would hope Jameel is really screwing up in some significant way but it seems none of us will ever know. That combined with a new coach means how is anybody so sure if anything is being handled correctly.

You mean the Shaka coached team that got ***** slapped by Baylor at home today

I agree it seems a bit odd, but at least initially I will side with the coach given what we have seen of the history with McKay this year. That may change, but the ones going after Prohm (which you are not), jump right to shots at religion, which is pathetic.

For the KenPom worshipers (myself not included) this is the best team Iowa State has ever had since that rating gained popularity. In actuality I think it just never liked the pace we won at with Fred, but a lot of people seem to think it means something year after year.

Tonight was the first time I started thinking maybe some info should be shared for the benefit of everybody including Prohm. It's his call though and I'll admit maybe I'm wrong.

If it was an attitude thing And if it was *minor* it's the fact that he probably did something stupid a week after his suspension and days after a players only meeting where they allegedly figured things out.

I'm hoping they were resting his knee but he's had enough rest the past few weeks and he wasn't exactly animated on the sidelines.
