What are you drinking tonight?

Two things I discovered over the weekend:

#1 Barn Town is killing it. My favorite new beers this year in Iowa have been from Barn Town. This weekend it was Pulp Non-Fiction. Food was good too.

#2 My wife tried a combo that is pretty good. 3/4 Shake chocolate porter(Nitro) with a 1/4 raspberry framboise. I've never seen any porter or stout that she has liked but she really liked this combo.

Thats been my wife's favorite "beer" for years, not actually too bad.

This is my favorite bloody mary mix. The spicy version

Yes they are. I had a buddy send me a crowler of Chowda and it was delicious. It will be my first stop when I get back into Iowa for Christmas!

Their beers all have a sweet quality I'm not real fond of along with a harshness that usually gives me heartburn. Being said, I can still appreciate their beers and understand why a lot of people like them. I'm not positive, but I think the brewer from Mikerphone in Chicago came out and helped them hone in their IPAs.

Probably had my favorite two beers of 2018 this weekend.

Madhouse carpe diem 2018-maple syrup that all I have to say. If you like maple syrup, it’s amazing.

Une Annee Kriek-Probably the best sour I’ve had since I was in Belgium drinking Cantillon and Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen. New to Iowa brewer from Illinois.

Picked up a four pack of Founders KBS at Hy-Vee this morning. I'm excited to try it but I might hold it for the weekend.
