What’s wrong with the offense?

Online and qb play isn't where it needs to be. It's good at times but this whole idea that you can wait till the second half to show up just kills all the home field. Play calling was as bad as I have ever seen.

I think they lost confidence in Rocco today and really were afraid to throw the ball aggressivel ly against a really poor tech defense.

We also made no adjustments to their pressure. Which we are going to see over and over post ucf doing it until we figure it out.
We can't pick up a blitz to save our lives.

This. Seems like our coaching staff never sees what other teams do on film and are always surprised what happens at the start of every game. Tonight it bit us in the ass.
I just don't understand how we were not more prepared for pressure

And ran 38 times. This should never have been a 50-50 split against this team. Horrible.

Also, shoot the Ngoyi formation into the sun. They run that WAY too much, and pretty much nothing good comes from it.
What would the ideal split have been?

IMO, 60-40 at minimum against the Tech defense.

And when you need 10 yards on 3rd down, don’t run plays like QB power.

Also, maybe don’t put us behind the sticks by lining up in a pure running formation. 90%+ of the plays ran out of the Ngoyi/3 TE formation have been runs.

I was surprised Rocco wasn’t able tor run much today. On his one scramble he chose to run out of bounds instead of turning upfield to get the first down.

What wasn’t wrong with the offense tonight? Would be a much shorter thread.

But they’re 7-1 so I’m going to flush that game and move on.

If it wasn’t 2 games in a row. I’d be a little less concerned. They won the UCF game because of Rocco’s improvising and heroics.

Our offense is so beyond predictable, it’s honestly pathetic. Other than the RPO out of the Pistol, I honestly don’t know if we have a formation or personnel where the D has truly consider a run or pass. Have we ran a pass while under center other than the goal line?!

Also we know it’s okay to get 4-7 yards through a short passing attack right? We don’t have to get the hard yards via run every time.

3 of Rocco's "runs" on the box score were pass plays that didn't work, so we're actually already at 42-35. Was the key to victory really passing it 4 more times?

3 and 10 before the Konrardy missed FG was a QB power. 2 pulling lineman and 3 more 10 yards downfield. I know they had some illegal men downfield today, but that was a run the whole way and was one of the worst play calls I have seen in a long time given the circumstances. Try for a first down there and it could have made the difference if they got it.

Also maybe trying a pass before 3rd down when they were 1st and 6 after the Sama run. And the false start. The third down play had 1 guy in a legitimate route. They brought in an extra lineman on that trash play call.

So yea, I think it was.

it is what it is I guess. CMC is the best we’ve had, by far, yet is still so unprepared for certain situations. My fear is what has happened the last to weeks we’ve played is exploited by the rest of our opponents and we finish 8-4 at best. Our offense line sucks again, imagine that.
