I was told Iowa center actually is which is a few miles north of Maxwell
There is a little unincorporated town called Iowa center, but it’s not the center either but is close than State Center.

The islands of American Samoa and Western Samoa are 120 miles apart, but have a time difference of 24 hours and are completely different calendar days. Kiribati Islands (straight south of Hawaii) is the first country to celebrate new years, but American Samoa is west of Kiribati and celebrates new years a full 24 hours later

If all the land in Iowa south of HWY 92 was annexed by Missouri. The average IQ in Iowa and Missouri would increase.

They do the same joke in Minnesota, except it's the lower row of Minnesota counties. I wonder if Missouri people do the joke with Arkansas.

Ames to Dallas … 726 miles
Chicago to New York City … 790 miles
El Paso to Orange, Texas … 856 miles

This pretty ******* wild to think about.

Many years ago, my husband had part of a road trip that went from Shreveport to El Paso. He tells how he almost weeped seeing the interstate sign that said "El Paso, 8xx miles".

On Wisconsin
I know that little piece of NW Indiana is central since it's in Chicagoland. Would be weird to have some suburbs 1hr ahead. Can't speak to the others tho it doesn't seem to make much sense
Part of the Wisconsin - Michigan line is Lake Michigan. The east side (Michigan) is eastern time and the west side (Wisconsin) is central time.

There are some parts of the UP that are central time, but I’d assume it’s for the same reason as NW Indiana
