Do you have any weird bucket list items? Whenever we go places, I like to find unusual things that most people would never think of doing. We are on our way to Ames from Utah and we accomplished the following:

1) Went to the triple point where we could stand in Wyoming, Nebraska, and Colorado all at one time. That involved hiking a mile through the prairie and dodging a herd of free-ranging cattle who looked at us like we were from outer space.

2) Went to the highest point in Nebraska about two miles away. It's called Panorama Point and is over a mile high at 5,400 feet. Way off in the distance, we could see the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. I don't know why I think that's awesome. You can see the Rocky Mountains from a state that borders Iowa.

My wife thinks I'm weird for making us spend two hours of our long day driving doing those things. But at least she's a good sport about it.

This was hours out of the way when I drove to the WV game but I want to see it sometime.

Yeah but have you ever seen the second largest ball of twine on the face of the earth?

You'll have to check out some things on this list the next time that you visit Iowa... including the world's largest popcorn ball...;)

I wanted to go to Provincetown when we went to Boston last year. Kind of a miserable drive, but I wanted to make it there.
I have a weird fascination with land masses surrounded by water, knowing that they will likely be underwater someday.

Swung by the geographic center of the U.S. Belle Fouche S.D. the actual spot is a little out of town but the marker is right in town in a nice little park. Also went to the little bighorn that trip pretty but solemn, Devils tower was cool.

It looks like this is the reminent of an old train bridge. To the right, are those the other towers just toppled over and rusing away?
