I know there are a few big names out there who didn't host a home game this week who get big numbers (Michigan, Alabama, A&M, Clemson, etc), but for the 69 schools that did, ISU ranked #22 on that list. Not too shabby clone fans!

You would think they would expand though with the recent success and Nike money. Not to mention they are one of the most popular brands as far as merchandising in the country.

Im sure if they wanted to they would but they really have there hands tied with the weird configuration. A lot of money went into there new locker room....which is sick

Yeah, being #22 is even mroe impressive when you consider that we only have 45,000 or so real seats and the rest of the fans were PACKED into the hillsides.

There is no way those people at the bottom of the hillsides even see any of the field action
 
The biggest complaint I hear from most fans is if they had an actual seat instead of grass they would get season tickets in those area's. Yup its nice to see Jack Trice packed.
 
For anyone who didn't listen to the call-in show on monday, JP made some really good points why we aren't doing the SEZ too soon.
What I remember he talked about our ISU needing the new facilities to help the program more than the SEZ would do. He also said that the SEZ would cost more than all the renovations combined since he has been here. And then he concluded with the fact that the AD might (will probably) need money to keep coaches, and if they pour all their funds into the SEZ, we might not be able to keep hoiberg and rhoads. It was very convincing

Six families contributed $90 million to provide the bulk of the seed money for TCU's just competed stadium renovation. That's really what the project needs in order to happen. JP is going to want to know where at least half the money is going to come from up front.

It really isn't a secret the JP wants to get it done. ISU fans have proven it is a necessity over the last few seasons. But he's waiting for the lead donors to walk through his office door with a big cardboard check.

Yep. We're very quickly nearing a point where demand will exceed capacity. We're used to seeing crowds like Saturday's against big name opponents. We've now seen it in a record opener against a non-BCS opponent. We will soon seen the same thing in all home games, assuming Rhoads/Pollard and Co. keep us on the same trajectory. Price it right, and many of those folks will pay for a real seat.

No doubt we will need some money to retain those coaches. The decisions to date make sense under our current financial constraints. But if Pollard had a lead donation large enough, we would start construction on the SEZ as soon as we got the nod from the BOR. It makes sense for many reasons.
 
I would donate tens of millions of dollars if i had that kind of money to blow. In my honest opinion i think we start on it in about 5 years

Why is this?

Would we still be able to sell tickets for the north hillsides?

Does anyone have any real idea of how many seats would be in place after the SEZ is bowled in (both decks)?
 
We will probably see the SEZ once we run out of season tickets to sell, which might come in the next few years.
