Weed killer

Just curious what people use to kill weeds. Do any of the organic type methods work well?

What are you trying to kill? Herbicides work best when weeds are actively growing. Applying in summer is best done after a it's rained, but the leaves are dry, and in the evening after temps have cooled down.

It's not overkill... I live in the dessert. We have no grass. It's all dirt, weed and rocks. So when someone around here says "my yard" or "my lawn" I just laugh. To me those words mean grass.

About every 10 years I buy a gallon of 2 4-D Amine from the Co-op at Gilbert.

I'd second the suggestion of using a sticker/spreader type product. There are lots on the market. Also as mentioned, spray when weeds are healthy and growing if possible. Wait a couple of days after you mow.

Hit it with diacamba on a nice 90 degree muggy day. It will take care of everything that way. Even your neighbors will leave you alone after that.

I use a couple different things. I use a combo of weed killer and sticker from Earl May and it works pretty well.

I've used some of the cheap weed/grass killers for my flower beds and I swear to god those things are filled with fertilizer.
