We just got hosed!!

Here is what happened: The powers that be realized that if they over value non-conference games they can increase TV revenue by forcing teams to schedule tougher opponents (creating more watchable games). This was seeding with an agenda.

We finish 3rd and get a 8 seed.

Baylor finishes 4th and gets a 3

KSU finishes 5th and gets a better 8 than us.

We did in fact get hosed. Conference games are more important. That is why they have a special distinction.

Yeah, i think there's been an overemphasis on the nonconference schedule in recent years when it comes to the top conference teams. It should matter for teams that have no SOS in their conference (helping to prove they deserve a seat at the table) but for those who have plenty of SOS in their conference (as anyone in the big 12 does), how they do in that conference should be 90+% of what is looked at, as it is the best indicator of how good that team is currently, and how they did in november\december is a pretty poor indicator of how they are currently. A team that finishes higher in a top conference should at very least have a comparable seed to those that finish lower. Even including the texas game, our conference game RPI rank is 22 from looking at the RPI comparison tool (Before the texas loss, i want to say we were about 16). That indicates a 6 seed.
