You are correct mostly. My 5 3 daughter was moved to front her when her teams 6 footer got into foul trouble by end of the 1st. She scored 2-4 more points the rest of the way by with my daughter fronting her and getting physical. By mid third quarter, Crooks wasn't even looking for the ball since my daughter was pushing back hard into her (no way my daughter would be able to move her and she knew it) and Crooks wasn't even looking for the ball and spent most of the time using her forearm to push my daughter down and away from her. She was also complaining about the contact she was receiving.
Is she D1?........... Yes for non P6. As a P6, Yes as a project. There are several other weak points in her game that needs to be cleaned up and I don't want to make it look like I'm piling so I won't go into specifics. It also depends on the type of system she is in. A faster paced, 3 point type team like ISU, I don't see it. A more set offense and slower paced one more like our men run, yes, that would be more her style. The other part of my project statement is fairly obvious.
The big thing is, people are talking about her coming her and being that down low banger, that is not her game, she is not a physical player.
To me another thing you have to factor is the high school level of play. I assume she does AAU so maybe there she gets some high level competition but difference in 1A basketball to 5A is quite different.
