WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

Hansford was a 45% shooter from 3 last year but is barely hitting 20% this year. There are other things to look at besides 3-pt%. However, Whiting's FT% is what's truly abysmal.

Last year Woolston was a WAY better player for BYU than Whiting. This year it was Gibb that was way better. She's okay, but not close to her ESPN rating for the Class of 2023.

Old article, but it made me laugh..

Frustrated’ by fouls, No. 1 Texas holds off Ole Miss in SEC women’s quarterfinals

"Game officials might need new whistles for the next ones they work. The teams combined for 53 fouls and 53 free throws, with Texas knocking down 19 to the Rebels’ 16.

Schaefer said he was “frustrated” with calls against Jones and Oldacre because of their size. Jones is 6-foot-4, and Oldacre is 6-foot-6.

“I feel like they get penalized because they are tall. Really, it feels that way,” he said. “It is what it is, and we’ll move on.”

When asked how he’ll try to keep his team out of foul trouble the rest of the tournament, he replied, “It beats the hell out of me.”

Weird. I heard something from Cotie McMahon about how she has "got that dog in me." Dog must have been napping. Lol.

Wonder if she give the crowd the double-finger like she did at Maryland? UCLA got to rest Betts and company a lot so they will be fresh for the game today versus USC. Buckeye's archrival made USC play a full 40 minutes.

"Thee Ohio State" is the Mt. Everest in arrogance. I am not much into school hate, think I mostly aged out of that sort of thing. However, OSU still remains as the only school I want to see lose every game in every sport.

Well, this is certainly "a choice". Young guy with no HC experience and only other experience is as an assistant in MBB and WBB at BYU.

How much longer until Vic and Texas cry that the SEC tourney needs to be moved from Greenville, SC so there isn't a "home court" advantage for South Carolina?
If he loses today that will be the reason he wants it moved. And I just laugh when a coach who's team is physical complains when the other team matches his type of play. His team can do it but the other team should not be allowed to play that way.

Just heard a crazy stat about Texas…they only make 3 three pointers a game and only shoot ten per game. Thats crazy. Says something about the athletes on the team.

Collective of ESPN talking heads get together and discussed:
  1. Did the weekend decide the No. 1 seeds and top 16?
  2. What's wrong with Notre Dame?
  3. Which team is your pick right now to win the 2025 title, and did Champ Week make you feel more confident or change your prediction?
  4. Are Duke and TCU legitimate title contenders?
  5. Which projected No. 1 seed do you have the least amount of faith in?
As much as I like to diss the ESPN chatter, this is actually pretty good.

I was really surprised that KSU still lands in the top 25 despite losing four of their last six. They did compete against WVU at the tourney, but that's about it.

At least Baylor seems to have made it to a Top 16 hosting spot. Voters seem to had been stubbornly keeping them below Lee-less KSU and than below WVU. At least that got straightened out some.

They have another week plus but I do wonder if Littlepage-Buggs actually has a shot of playing March or if it's just "hope" and a bit of projection for the seeding committee. Same for Lee and KSU although I am WAY more skeptical we will see Lee.

This made me laugh. These two tweets popped up together in my newsfeed.

Might be time to start a general portal thread or "The Portobello" as I call if for fun.

I sure hope Lee ended up with a good degree. I just don't see her playing ball with her knee problems.
