WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

I could believe that TTU has 5 billionaires supporting their program at various levels. Texans aren't known for caring a lot about basketball let alone WBB, so I would be surprised that they wouldn't try to by a football 5* or two instead with that money.
The only number I see popping up is a distribution of 8 MILLION to athletes over the first two years of NIL. That's according to the Dallas News. Keep in mind that is through 2023.Screenshot 2025-03-11 at 3.57.24 PM.png

Be interesting to see if this is the ploy to try and get a top 4 bid or if she can really play. My guess is their hosting went away with the losses down the stretch. Baylor deserves it over then anyway in my opinion.

Wow. Did not see this one coming. Woolston is on her 18-month mission and is a LDS and I just didn't see her leaving BYU.

It is possible she could still end up back at BYU and is just covering her bases here until she gets a pitch from the new coach (and sees if Gibb is staying).

Wyoming, UNI, and Drake all make it into the WBIT. Wyoming and Drake get to host. The Finals will be at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, a really cool venue.

Find it ridiculous that 2 coaches of number one seeds are complaining. I get that SCar played a tough schedule (they lost by 30 to UCONN at home) and USC - maybe she has a little gripe as they did beat UCLA twice and lost in the conference championship (most committees haven't cared about those)...they are one seeds and want something to complain about!!

Because it's so ridiculous, I have to imagine she's trying to motivate her players. She's coming up with a narrative to push them. You so often hear coaches talk about being disrespected by the media/fans/opponents which is usually a stretch.

Staley didn't get the #1 of the #1's but has the easiest path to the Final Four. I don't get the grumping but it's sort of her nature. It's sort of pick'em for who's THEE top #1 but it really doesn't matter. They all way overplay the "respect" card. It's not enough to go win a championship, you must bend a knee in their mere presence.

Some of it is coach speak BS and some of it is pure elitist arrogance.

The only advantage to being the #1 overall seed instead of #2 is that #1 is now guaranteed to play in an early (Fri/Sun) regional instead of Sat/Mon, thanks in large part to Staley's complaining previously.

what a tough problem to have! LOL... reminds me of when Coach Summit (RIH) complained about having to play in AMEs. ironically we lost before that match up.

And the way this year's bracket/schedule set up, South Carolina would still be the first team to play their regional final.
