WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

WVU beats the snot out of ISU, ISU beats the snot out of Arizona, Arizona beats the snot out of WVU:

Arizona plays exactly like WVU with the constant pressing, and it wore on WVU. Throw in WVU couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from 3 (1/12), while Arizona goes 7/19 from 3. WVU looked lost and out of sorts when I was watching.

Big opportunity for Baylor at TCU tomorrow. After they dropped out of polls early they got no respect but are sitting at 6-1 in league play with a piece of 1st place in play for them.
They dug themselves in a hole in the first half and can't get out of it. The start of the third quarter was a disaster, 13-2 run for TCU.

My hometown Gophers improved to 6-3 and are tied for 5th like the Cyclones. However they have to road trip to Los Angeles to face #4 USC on Thursday and #1 UCLA on Sunday. Yikes. Their 3rd and 4th ranked team to play in six games. Than Iowa and Indiana before another roadie at #12 Ohio State.

That is one super tough 5 game stretch right there. I'll send you a sympathy card.

Take the top 4-5 teams and it’s definitely pick your poison. Going to take a monumental effort to knock off any of them.

New polls

#9 TCU - no change
#11 KSU - down 1
#21 WVU - down 5
#24 OSU - back into top 25

Baylor dropped from rankings.

RV: Baylor 12, Utah 11

I think Baylor has been majorly disrespected, but they have damaged their own reputation a couple of times early, but Geesh…their three losses since conference started…not a bad one there. They are just like ISU as they don’t really have anything stellar to hang their hat on.

Well, they do have 4 Quad 2 wins to our 2 and getting cheated out of a Quad 1 win because Utah is NET 26 and not NET 25. They do at least have that win over a ranked team. At least when we play them next a Quad 1 is in play for both teams, barely.

McDonald's All-American Team squads have been announced. Dang, Tennessee with three players. And maybe the talk of the demise of Stanford is premature, they have three players on the squad. Iowa's Addie Deal is on the squad and a trio of Big 12 recruits (highlighted).

The Cinci recruit is a hometown girl. Kansas got KS native Jaliya Davis over offers from the elites and same for Kansas getting MO player Jordan Speiser.

The usual top teams got players. Notably absent, UConn. Maybe Geno, at age 70, is running into a "How long will he be here" thing. He did get an ESPN #27 but not thee top players.

Does ISU just have the one recruit from Europe? Obviously she wouldn’t be on any lists.

Edit - thought there was another…Reese Beaty from TN

Reese Beaty from Tennessee and Freya Jensen from Denmark. Who knows how good Jensen might be be. Best player out of Denmark is like best player from a moderately sized USA state. You don't hear much of the overseas gals unless they get a UConn or other elite offer. Canada, bit different as you hear about those gals because of the various Canada national teams and the recruiting of those gals. Not like seven times zones away.

Interesting that Lauren Hurst out of TN is ESPN ranked #42. Beaty, the #2 player not ranked at all. Maybe shouldn’t be surprised, but for that state it seems like a steep drop off.
