Pretty sure they're taking into consideration Iowa's dominant wins over Illinois and #8 Michigan in two days as well.
UConn doing a similar beatdown on Villanova. ‘Nova shooting threes like ISU did v ASU. Wide open looks just not going in. Put up 21 of them in the first half making 4.
Illinois was definitely a dominant W. I'll walk it back on Michigan though, dominant 4th quarter for a 17 point win, but close game up until then.
Clearly you didn't watch the game. Iowa was up 10 at the end of the 1st quarter. Up by 14 at half. Up by 22 at the end of the 3rd. Iowa was up by 21 with around 3-4 minutes left in the game when Jensen pulled the starters and emptied the bench. Illinois' HC kept her starters in the entire game and they went on a 15-point run in the last 3-4 against our backups to pull within 6 by the end of the game. The game was never close. Iowa dominated.

So UCONN is easily the pick to win the NC. The only 1 seed that seems "vulnerable" is Texas. Vanderbilt and LSU could make a run at it depending on which 1 seed they get paired with.
Yup. Watched a few games that day and caught this one. Was thinking for a moment that she had pulled her starting core a minute or more too soon. The previous game with Illini was a "true" five point win. And against the Gophers, who also only beat Illinois by 5.
The Illini are currently projected as 7 seed.
UConn heavy favorite. Only other team with a chance is UCLA. Other Final 4 teams will almost certainly be two of Texas, South Carolina or LSU. Maybe Vanderbilt but I'm always a little leery of teams that are so reliant on one player. Yes, ironic I know.
If anyone comes within 20 points of UCONN before the final four, I will be surprised.
It's a long time ago now, but they only beat Michigan by 3. All that took was UCONN scoring only 4 points in a quarter.

I used to hate Notre Dame, Duke, the ACC, the SEC, etc. etc. it is an extremely useless emotion at 55 years of age to be upset and pissed off and always posturing about a sporting event…

I like Iowa State and if this was an Iowa board and they were throwing a fit about Iowa State I’d call them on their BS as well…. It’s honestly ignorant, but this will really frost you, generally speaking. I find ALL Iowans to be similar regardless of fan bases and a lot of them are like this…
