WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

I think it’s the Iowa state luck…the gal from Cincy who played like an all conference selection (Perry) is 1/9 today against Tech.

She did a little better in the 2nd half, finished with 9. Without Fritz I'm not sure TT would have won that game. She chipped in 13 and played solid all around.

Cincy, after getting blown out by huge margins in their first couple of games, has looked a lot better in the last three. Not great shooters (at all) but they looked to be able to defend and hustle. They out rebounded TTU like they did us.

Indiana was leading Iowa by 16 at halftime. Iowa outscored them 19-4 in the 3rd. One point lead for the Hoosiers. #BeatIowa

#13 TCU got healthy with a 30 point win over upstart Arizona State.

Unranked Minnesota managed to hang on to beat #21 USC but almost had another late game collapse.

#14 Iowa struggled again but managed to beat Indiana on the road.

#16 Baylor beats Kansas in Waco.

#19 Ohio State beats #8 Maryland on the road.

Previously posted in the thread: #2 Texas goes down on the road to #12 LSU. Guess Kim got her gals attention after stumbling a few days back.

Other Big 12 ranks:
#10 TCU +3 to get into Top 10
#17 TTU no change
#18 Baylor -3 after winning four games in a row?
#19 ISU -8

In the receiving votes category: WVU who just missed getting in at #25 and Utah who got a handful of votes. No votes for OSU.

Non Big 12:
#6 LSU +6 biggest up move
#11 Iowa +3 and takes our old spot
# 13 Oklahoma -8 and the other big loser in the polls with the Cyclones.

ISU being ranked is more of an “echo” effect. No reason they should be in the top 25 at this point. Baylor should have held status quo at least. WVU will eventually make it in if they hold court against good teams. Looks like TTU is still receiving skepticism from voters. OSU…I’m not sure what to think of them…dangerous offense, but vulnerable.

That's why I posted in one the threads here T. Goodman's point that ranking are what you have done and are not predictive of what will happen next. I am guess we keep dropping if we lose another game. Might stick around 20's something if we can get a couple wins. Realistically, with two starters out, I am not optimistic but dropping 8 was a fair rank in the here and now. If we keep losing they will of course drop us out.

Since we are essentially out of the race do any of you care who finishes first now? Not a lot of individual star power in the Big 12 right now or teams I feel are fun to watch so I don't really have a favorite. Maybe go for the upstarts rom TTU? They haven't been good in forever and do have a couple of ex-Cyclones although neither was at ISU very long.

After tomorrow and the 1/3 mark of conference play TTU will likely be 6-0 (don't see them losing at home to Houston) and the four teams tied for second will be whittled down to two at 5-1 (Baylor @ Utah, TCU @ WVU).
